CW1 Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Hi I want to put a gsxr 750L top end on a 650 bandit bottom end, do I use the bandit igniter or the gsxr 750 igniter? Quote
Gixer1460 Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Where the bang happens determines the most suitable unit ie. the 750! Quote

CW1 Posted August 30, 2019 Author Posted August 30, 2019 Gixer1460, I love the quote. Duckndive, the 2005 and 2006 650 were oil cooled, after that they are water cooled. Looking at the specs for 600 and 650 bandits it appears the 650 has 1 bhp less than the 600, drinks more juice and cost half as much again for vehicle tax. I just happen to have a GSXR 750 L and a GSX 1100 F both for sale but I've not had anyone even look at the 1100 so I don't think I'll fair any better with the 750. After reading in here that even a dumbf**k like me could put the 750 top end on the 650 base, I'm thinking I could get some extra bang instead of the hassle of trying to sell it. The b6, b650 and 750L the stoke are all the same 48.7mm, the gudgeon pins are the same diameter so it should all fit. I was going to put the whole 750 motor in the bandit frame until I saw the insurance quote. Quote
wraith Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 I would of thought the the insurance would be the same or near to each other if you put the hole motor or just top end? If you're going to pay more on insurance put the 1100 motor in the b65 and do the job right Quote
