High idle, sometimes

On my project gsx750es (my83), i have a high idle, 2500-3000, cant adjust it down, then it stalls. After riding and stop engine and then start up it revs at 1200rpm. Start driving and idle returns to 2500+. No binding in carbs, or cable.

Think it was like this on other bike i tried the carbs on, something internal maybe?

They are brand new.

Still, the most common cause of a high idle is an air leak.

check your boots and clamps

Do you have the air box on, or pod filters?

Have you balanced the carbs?

Badly balanced carbs can make the engine noise louder and make the tick over do what it wants when it wants.

The carb are balanced, i run a stock air filter.

Will check for airleaks with starter fluid.
