  1. Is this repairable without head gasket removal?
  2. Hey all, I am going to be yanking the mill for some transmission work to back cut trans. If I do a wiseco 1168 to the motor, without cams, is it worth it? Motor runs great. It does have a slight oil leak at head gasket near the upside down bolt. I am running stock carbs with stage 3 jet kit. I plan on RS36 flats in the future. I hate taking motor apart, so, if I know I want to do it why not do it? But, before I spend cash I really don't need to, is it worth it. Will I notice a difference with out cams? Or port work? Is it possible to build a motor up over time, or do you have to do it in one shot? Thanks.
  3. Not the discs, definitely the pads. I don't have the pad shims. Guess I should try that. EBC pads currently installed.
  4. Hey all, I swapped my ed front end for a bandit 1200 with 4 pot nissin. Problem I am having is rattling of the brake pads. I bought new suzuki pad springs, but 1000 miles in and the pads a rattling. I suppose I could bend the spring, but I'm sure that won't last long. Any tips?
  5. I swapped he stock stem into the bandit lower. I then had a top hat looking bushing machined to fit in the top. No problems since.
  6. That sounds interesting. I will have to look up that mod.
  7. Was thinking maybe just a back cut on the gears
  8. Hey all, 83 gs1100ed. When cold it will pop out of 1st or 2nd at or near redline, or when the power hits good above 8000. After warm it's not so prevelant. I am pretty sure I have cable adjusted properly. I am running barnett Kevlar plates and barnett springs. The steels were in almost perfect condition. Trans messed up? Shift forks? Hoping the trans doesn't need parts. Suggestions or insight much appreciated. Again, no issues until after 8000 rpm.
  9. I swapped stems from original forks. Had to cut a relief in old yoke to get it out. Added knurling to the bottom portion of stem and pressed into bandit bottom yoke. Bent the Damn press! I have an 1100ed. Bearings were same size. I had to have the collar that goes into top clamp machined to fit bandit top triple. Using a 2002 front end. Should be the same for earlier.
  10. I have a bandit 1200 wheel with the stock ED carrier. I had to run a DID 530VX chain. I have about 2mm clearance.

  16. What about the flatslide cv's from slabs 36 or 34mm???
  17. What makes them hard to tune? Why would they be better than smoothbore keihin cr.? Are the keihin just a copy of the same design?
  18. Hey all, simple question. If I order mikuni flatslides or keihin CR's, what size jets should I start with? Do I start with size I have in the current stock cv's? Which is filled with a dyno jet kit currently. Or can I order them jetted to match my application.? Stock 1100 with a motowerks gp exhaust. Thinking 34 flats or 33 CRs.
  19. Dropped off at paint. Couple weeks to find out if I like I t or not.
