And when it comes to brakes...........can you afford for them to fail - EVER ?

Well, no. But there's tons of Chinese bikes sailing about and I haven't heard any horror stories.

I think the issue is variability, like I say. A lot of manufacturers outsource to China but implement tight QC. Most wouldn't think anything of buying a branded accessory that might have been manufactured in China if it's got a recognised name on it.

  2. Jetting is different, needles are different, mounting rail (the "set plates") between them is different too.

Powerscreen has two fuel inlets on the carbs, slabby only has one.

    Cable choke on powerscreen carbs.

  3. GSXR thou K-series stock titanium pipes, Danmoto can and linkpipe. Ramair dual foam filters with silicone pipe reducers to form an intake tract.

Can't remember the jetting, from memory they're either 122.5 or 125 mains, I'll look when I take em off again.

They're good,  nice and crisp most of the way up the rev range but struggle when you work them really hard. If that's a failing of the accelerator pumps or the jetting, I've not sussed out, but there's enough snap to spin the rear out of corners, so that'll do.

If I get chance, I'll dyno it to satisfy your curiosity. ;)

  4. Needing a quick fix winter hack, so me being me and nothing being simple, I want to sling a 750 slabby motor into a GS550 frame.

Now... what engine mounts will work? I'm given to believe that the top back and front line up relatively easily, am I right thinking that?

Also, in a stock swingarm, what's the maximum width rear I can get in without surgery? 4.5?

Bearing in mind I'd like it to be as "bolt-together" as possible, with a minimum of butchery. Cheers. :pimp:
