https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-registration/rebuilt-vehicles
A new frame of the same specification, you can keep existing reg. Just need to use 2 major components of the origional vehicle. Engine and gearbox. Done

Its not illegal at all. You can re-frame a bike with a frame of the same type of construction. A steel cradle frame is the same as a bandit so your allowed to transfer numbers over, same as if you damaged your frame and got a replacement.
Use good insurance company like Adrian Flux "bikesure" they are more than happy to insure them if you tell em you have swapped the standard frame.

I wanted to do over 200

Kev did 203 2nd run then killed it. I lost 50bhp somwhere which im trying to suss out, managed 2 propper runs and got to 184 before it was rained off.
Bit disapointed to be honest.

I'm not sure if I got your point here Any way, if you use an EFI pump in carb system at lower pressure it will produce at least as much flow as on EFI system at higher pressure. In practice it will flow more at low pressure. And also fuel heating will be smaller at low pressure as the pump doesn't need to work as hard.
So generally I don't see any problem in using EFI pump with carbs and return style pressure regulator. Given that pump sizing is at correct ball park. Maximum pressure capability of the pump doesn't play any role there since the regulator will always keep the pressure lower by bleeding excess fuel back to the tank. Important figure is pump flow at your working pressure. With deadhead regulator it would be completely different situation as the pump would push maximum pressure against the regulator when there is no flow to carbs.
I thought pretty much the same. Dont think he quite understands the way we are using variable fuel pressure regs.
Its not been a problem for hundreds of people with carbed bikes running the same setup.
Only problem i ever had was when i had a 130lph pump and i changed turbo. Just couldnt flow enough fir what i wanted. Swapped to a 260lph and its been fine

Erm yeah a rising rate regulator with its referrence pipe conected to a pressurised part of the air system (carb top normally) will give a rising fuel pressure that rises exactly with boost but slightly higher by however much you have set the base pressure at. Any excess fuel returns to the tank via the return line from the rrfpr. Doesnt heat the fuel up anymore than in an injection system.
I run 7psi to 17psi boost and my fuel curve remains perfect and constant any revs any boost.

It Straightliners Top Speed Tuesday on the 18th.
I will be taking my Spondon Turbo out to play for the last time before it cones to bits for a winter upgrade and re-vamp.
Kid Kearsley is joining the fun too.
Last one over 200mph is buying the brews.
Im just trying to find out if my bike will achieve that speed before I go daft on aerodynamics in my pursuit of being the 1st person to achieve 200 on Pendine Sands.

Extra 10bhp or an extra 100bhp, why do you even need to ask :-)

Think you will find the air will take the most direct route inlet to outlet. Rest of the cooler will just fill with still air and do pretty much nothing. Same with radiators. Thats why they have inlet and outlet top and bottom on opposite sides

It is expensive you are right but when you consider the full infrastructure to put the event on will cost myself and Darin 90k to put on and we do not get the gate money.
Donington on a weekend is pricy to hire,on top of that we need 3 extra ambulance per day at £500 a unit per day.
2 x Doctors £500 per day
Fire crew and fire £500 per day.
Pace car plus drivers £500 per day.
Acu affiliated club plus staff £15k.
Track hire 40 k ish for the weekend.
Plus extras.Bands,TV, marquees, staff to help etc etc the list is huge.
So as you can see we are serious about what we do and how we see the event,a massive risk for just two mates to put on this event.
For us it is far easier to just do track days but we will always struggle to get premium tracks at weekends as the circuits want events where they can take the gate money.
Cheers Rob
Appreciate what you do mate. See my later comment about the cost :-)
Seems a lot until you break it down a bit.

Watch out for it handling like a bag of shit too. Rear grip will be awful ;-)

with a £995 entry fee I doubt we will bother , there are much better things to spend a £1000 on , Classic TT no entry fees really I must check that out
I thought about it, split between 3 riders over 4 hours is 1:20 track time each plus qualufying and i would hope saturaday practice is included too. Not actually that bad l, pretty much on par with club racing for track time value. I could live with £330

It may be me but that intercooler looks like it wont do very much. Would be much better with the outlet the oposite side to the inlet.

Shit the bed thats expensive

Sounds like an eventful weekend. Bike looked to be going well too. Sorry didnt get over to see you in garage. Spent all sat eve helping my mate rebuild his bike. Was worth it though, he got a 1st and 2nd and wrapped up 3rd overall.
Hopefully going to be out a bit more next year so will catch up then. :-)

Cool. Will be there in morning. Will pop in and say hello

Td04 from subarus are what tend to be used.
There are other variants that perform better that are a straight swap should you want to upgrade.
Thats what i did. Started with a TD04 and swapped it out for a IHI VF23 ball bearing turbo of a higher spec imprezza.

Why would you need anyvtesting after doing it? Just build it and MOT it. No requirement to do anything else
