  1. Don't need to be top quality but ones I seen on the bay were 140 it's not the mates only bike he has a fazer so this will be sunny weather bike
  2. i know the proper shocks are the fork on the bottom just having bother finding a new set for sale on e bay there are ones listed for £50 but they look rubbish looking to spend around £150 . the bike is standard 1977

  4. hi folks im restoring an 1977 gs 750 for my mate its all stripped down frame etc away for powdercoat full carbs ultrasonic clean and rebuild im looking for rear shocks problem is ive seen some for sale but they say for 77 but have single eye fitting top and bottom the ones of his have a fork fitting at the bottom im not sure what model his is ie different letters after model any info would be great also any recomendations for good shocks thanks

  7. im doing a full strip an rebuild theres a small security screw at the side of fork tube were the damping adjust screw is can this be removed and does the damping screw come out for cleaning checking etc fitting full bush and seal kit

  14. massive thanks everyone great advice i now feel confident enough to tackle them myself what do you use to drift the fork seal into place ive seen the proper tool but dont fancy spending £50 for something i might only use once has anyone improvised a tool ?? and what fork oil do most of you use
  15. ive ordered new stantions from tarrozzi for my 1100 k ive got new seal kit and bushes never stripped forks before so im sorta brickin it lol any advice or helpful hints would be much appreaciated is there something i can improvise for fitting the seals as dont want to damage them also what oil should i use im 19 st springs are standard but hoping to fit uprated set in the future when money allows
  16. thanks everyone its comin back to me now i remember the fiddly screws an the slightest pressure sets them off i stripped the carbs fully and replaced all seals an cleaned all the jets so just this to do an should be running sweet
  17. so the middle screw does nt do 2 an 3 it levels the 4 carbs
  18. cheers Katanamangler am i right in thinking theres 3 screws 1 on left does 1 an 2 carb the 1 in the middles balances all 4 carbs together and the screw on the right does 3 and 4

  20. i always use a small smear of instant gasket used grease and it leaked

  22. crazy price but sometimes nothin will do but the right part looks good
  23. cheers jonny i always thought it made the gears tougher wearing
  24. get the gears undercut makes them a lot tougher
