Bighairymuppet

Would you use any sealant or just dry fit gasket (fibre gasket). Bike was crashed so thought surfaces were damaged so was thinking of using gasket sealant but on taking the cover off and checking all surfaces seem smooth and OK so thinking I should just dry fit. Anyone know best? And whether a little smear of oil required?
