  1. So, I have an 01 teapot motor and wiring harness that has a 6 wire cdi. The ignition switch is a 4 wire from a 92 teapot. Is there a way to make this work or would it be easier to buy a 6 wire switch to go with the wiring harness?
  2. Out of curiosity, what rear wheel are you using, and are you using the stock swingarm?
  3. I will most likely do the 5.5 because it does look like less hassle. I am only running a 600 now, but future plan include a 1200 bandit motor as soon as I find one that's cheap enough. I will admit it would mainly be for looks, I couldn't see much difference in handling in a 5.5 vs 6 inch wheel. Running a slightly taller tire would cause a quicker tip in would it not?
  4. Way to add something constructive to the post bud
  5. I have an 81 gs550 with a teapot 600 motor. I would like to monoshock the bike and use a swingarm from an 06 gsxr1000 which have roughly the same swingarm pivot width. So instead of cutting some out, could you heat the frame and dent the frame for chain run clearance? Or would that weaken the frame?
  6. Hey guys I am curious if anyone has used a 6 inch rear rim on a gs?
  7. I think you want your gs swingarm bolt and the bandit bearings and these insert spacers http://www.lucky7moto.com/blog/?page_id=415
  8. I would think swapping the complete 650 would be the easiest. But if you do decide to use the 550 bottom end and the 650 top end, use the 650 cams. When using the 650 cams you will need to switch the timing gears off the 550 cams to get it to work. I believe mac 4 Into 1 exhaust is all they sell anymore for the 550/650. Also the CV carbs are more difficult to tune, but are tunable. I tuned my 550 with cv's and velocity stacks, and it ran rather well after playing with some different jet sizes.
