If you can't find a second hand o/e system that suits have a look at the delkevic systems, they're relatively inexpensive, fit well and are usually a bigger bore as the o/e system(at least the bandit) is double skinned ,and quite heavy plus the bandit downpipes rot at the collector I had to have mine welded up before I went full system

Thanks guys! Yeah I was looking at delkevic as I’ve got a set on my et and they work well, just wants to make sure that the headers would fit before I start buying loads of bits

  2. Hey guys, so after finding out what front end I want to throw into it, the old girl has a original twin exhaust on her and was wondering if anyone knows if a b6 4-1 will fit or maybe from the 750 range might fit for a 4-1 system?

    any info much appreciated

Lock stops as normal, and off the shelf bears from all ball racing, no need to swap stems, I think it's in my project Hellcat build.

I did read through the whole project and thought it looked great! But couldn’t find anything on stem swap or bearing change when you changed it over, unless I’m blind!

and thank you for the info much appreciated! Don’t suppose anyone knows of any rearsets that fit off the shelf? From the looks it’s going to be adapter plates me thinks

Srad 750 forks, 4 pots tokico, 310mm discs (600/750 k5?), srad whell, and brake pads from 4 pots nissin (b12 mk1 example)

Did any of you guys have to press the stem out? or was it just a bearing swap?

    There quite short.

I was looking at the fork chart and there longer than the 600f apparently? Also somehow I have a 160 wheel out of a zx6r first gen lying around so might see if I can get that in the swinger.

I was looking at forks off a zx6r but not sure on stem length or if it’s even possible as I know the rwu and adjustable.

I have a set of 750M ones. You’ll have to decide what front end you want first.

I was thinking like 600srad as there rwu and fully adjustable, but if usd are better and just as easy to swap in I’d be up for it

Just got this of @fatblokeonbanditit's got a gsxr750 slingshot upside down front end and a 5.5" wheel with a 180 tyre in the standard arm. It's all in the projects section (y)IMG_20230603_200434.thumb.jpg.1f97941416027128a6c78848b2e71cba.jpg

Thankyou mate, I will have a look, also I’m looking for over the top clip ons or underneath as it’s going to be a track bike

  8. Hey guys, so after the old et was finished being built I needed something else to do for a laugh, so now I have a 91’ 600f in my possession, and I’m looking at front ends that are fairly simple to swap over also does anyone know if a 160 tyre fits the original swingarm?

    Ps,

there is a place in Germany that sell patend lenses for £16 on fbay but the only problem is they got the hump with the UK when we left that blue flag thing and won't ship to the UK now

That could be a slight issue haha

OK well these have such a nice design overall, it's best to focus on "chassis" mods when customising them. @TonyGeeshows a good example

I take it you can do this mod while still keeping the twin shock set up?

Well the usual trick is to bin the small covers under the seat, cut the end off, shorten it accordingly and weld the end to move the tail unit so it joins the side panels directly.

Thats quite straightforward and looks good

Other than that it's going to be a full build of a subframe. Do you have any ideas to go from ?

Not really was just looking for ideas and have been thinking about shortening the rear, also got to find a rear lense as mine is in a million bits lol.

what are you thinking ? the gsx1100 et ally swinger will go in but the pivots are different sizes, easily sorted though.  ive got a 1200 bandit swinger and wheel on mine.

Sorry buddy, meant as in the seat and seat unit

  13. Hey guys been a while, got me 750et al.done and on the road and been looking at rear end swaps, is there anything that's relatively easy to go on or is anything a general cut and grind?

    Cheers

Blandit Mk 1 wheels have curved spokes and Mk2 wheels are straight spoked which may give you an easy option.See pic of 600 Mk2 wheel, readily available on the well known auction site for about 30 quid

Interesting, I will take a gander, thank you very much

  15. So after making a decision on the front end and to keep it and have a CNC yoke Made up, I now have a annoying problem that the b12 front wheel is straight spoked and my b6 rear end is curved, since I'm using b6 swingarm in my et was wondering if anyone knows of a 4.5 straight spoke or possibly move Upton's 5.5?

Not sure that I'd call 25 year old forks recent either !! The point I was trying to make is that most 'recent' forks can be vastly improved with a cartridge kit.

    Ooh I get ya

Went to Harris recently to get my frame repaired and asked about some Ohlins forks. They said 'why pay for Ohlins, get a set of recent forks, get them modded with a cartridge kit and they will be as good as Ohlins.' Just saying that most recent forks can be made much better with a decent up-grade kit on them. But you pays your money you takes your pick. Still love a set of the gold ones on the front of the bike tho.(y):D

Don't know if you'd call 25 year old bandit forks new? Also don't want to go USD as it doesn't look right in my opinion, but I see where there coming from

Ah right just read your post properly

    yes b12 are 770mm

I don’t know about adjustability but when I stupidly raced my b12 I had the forks revalved and sprung for my weight the difference was night and day :tu

Is it much hassle to get them done and set up? Also anyone know how long thundercat forks are? There adjustable and they could be long enough as I believe the clip one were on top of the yoke?

600 SRAD fully adjustabel, home made stepped yoke length 755mm.:tu

That would be really handy but aren't blandit 12 forks 770mm? If so It would grind out even more, or could you make a taller yoke if that makes sense?

Fit emulators? New cartridges.  Not a lot else to do. Nice rear shock helps.

Didn't know they made emulators or cartridges for a MK1? And yeah I'm running yss rear shocks too

  21. 5 minutes ago, TonyGee said:

what about a stepped top yoke ? its possible to weld two together and then slide the forks down.

I know you can buy a CNC yoke that drop the forks down but unfortunately that doesn't help with adjustability, I've got yss springs in them too but just want some more adjustability if possible
