Think I've got some in a box somewhere, if you need one and can wait till next week when I get home, I can check and if I've got a spare one, you can have it (y)

OK I have a 750 starter on a 1052 crank and clutch but I am using the 750 idler gear,

    and with a NRC cover.

1 tooth more hmm that may explain why I thought it was a bit sluggish but otherwise no particular issues, so sounds you'll need the idler gear also to go with the starter motor

I was going to change the clutch over (the 750 one looks a bit lighter) as I counted both clutch sprockets and seem to remember they were the same tooth count 68 each but didn't have a puller

Right , thanks for that and i have the 750 short stroke motor just for the head , well cams really as reputedly built by Allen Jeff back in the day so can change out idler gear .

One question though, my sprag removed with tap between with screwdriver , how do I put it on properly ?

  3. Hi all, been having starting issues, long story short changed the starter motor for a 750 dot head one and motor wouldn't turn over, removed the nrc cover and it would ? Yeah me too .

Removed sprag and toothed gear , replaced cover and all turns over?

Should there be a thrust washer between them ? And any one had problems with nrc covers ? It did start and run with old started motor but very sluggish turning over and was full of crap .
