Another bike on my bucket list! I saw on FB that hes making XR69 swingarms, hopefully frame kits wont be far behind!

SNT Race engineering make excellent XR69 frame kits (y)

  2. Remove any paint/primer from around the tank edge under the filler, for around 10mm, leave it bare metal, the problem with paint between the two surfaces is that it "wickes" the fuel.

i use a Viton rubber gasket to seal it.

370steve, does the one you have for sale fit the 89 gsxr750?

i am no expert on its fitment and onto which bike it will fit, but i do know it fits into a stock bandit 12 clutch basket with no modification. some one with better understanding of GSXR 750/1100 clutches and their similarity to bandits might be able to answer that, or contact Sigma as i am sure they can be of help.

  4. sigma make one for the GSXR750/1100 and also fits the SRAD, they also fit the Bandit  (PS i have the one in the pic for sale with new plates and springs, never used)

going with grade5 titanium for the engine and suspension bolts except for the two long bolts at the back of the engine which I'm using a2-70 stainless because I couldn't get them in that size in titanium,

you can get them made in Grade5 Ti from Component Engineering

  6. I have had two Racefit systems made (one modified) they are very well made and extremely light, but they are noisy, even with NRI (noise reduction insert)!!

I'm glad you said that, because I used it on some EFE engine parts after everyone said it was great, and it stated flaking off quite soon after.

    Thought it was just me...O.o

I was told that PJ1 makers were told they would have to get EU certification ( E mark) for import into European Union for their "full Fat" paint, would have cost them around £100K for the process, so they ditched the formula for a less harmful one, thats why you can only get "proper" PJ1 if you order it from non EU countries from my understanding.

It's a shame no-one makes an aftermarket tacho like these ones with the correct scale for an OSS oil boiler: they're either 10K (ok for aircooled) or 14-15 (ok for a smaller engined bike). 12 would be optimal, although personally I'd buy one that ranges 0-11k, just to be able to say: 'mine goes up to 11' whenever I had the chance O.o.

    Dash2 has adjustable tacho :)
