  1. If you run a single cable on them you run the risk of the carbs jamming wide open, especially in the rain.
  2. Inlet rubbers and you will have to do a minor re-plumb on the rocker cover breather. Make sure not to mix up the clutch push rods. leave them in the engines they came from.
  3. Sump gaskets don't usually rip when taken off carefully., Unless someone has used excessive sealant on them. Ignition pickup cover gasket is easily made from cardboard (cereal packet birthday card or other single ply cardboard). Make sure to clean the oil pickup filter when you have the sump off. This filter will also give you an idea of what went wrong with the dead engine. You will have to use the sump and oil pickup from the bandit engine to match up with the bandit oil cooler lines. Remove and wash out the bandit oil cooler before restarting the bike.
  4. Standard arms that have been braced.
  5. Hi all, I'm looking for insipartion. Can you post pics of your braced Slabby swinging arms? Mine are 750F arms but any slabby arm pics will help.
  6. Took me a good few attempts to get you Scott
  7. Viz, sorry for talking shite to you for hours on Saturday night. I was having a bad day and maybe a little bit drunk. Lovely to meet you all and thanks again for sorting us out with an alternator for the T bike. I'll get one to Scott for return.
  8. Free practice and qually were a fucking nightmare. The Harris was playing silly buggers and I only got 1lap in practice. Gordy and Angus did 4 or5 each. New ignition module and coils didn't fix it so another set of carbs and it was better but I didn't get to try it until the morning warm up. Qually was worse. The Harris was in bits so I had to go out on the spare bike. I did a warm up lap and then nearly got put off the track in lap 2. On lap 3 the motor dropped a valve. I did a 1:30. Gordy went out on the Harris before the carb swap. He coughed round and did the same time as me. Angus qualified 9 seconds quicker than us which brought our average time up to get us 36th on the grid. It could only get better. Maybe. It was a trying day. When changing the back tyre first thing, Don noticed it had spun a bearing in the astralite hub. Much cursing, swearing and filing later it was sorted with 3 minutes to spare from getting a penalty for not doing the sighting lap. I did the Le Mans start. Made up about a dozen places by the first corner. Settled into a rhythm but got black flagged after 20 minutes with oil pouring out of the engine. I pulled off into the infield and got back through a pedestrian tunnel fairly quickly. The sump gasket had failed. Don got it fixed, refuelled and out again in 15 minutes. Unfortunately the team manager turned the fuel off and didn't tell anyone. Gordy got half a lap and the bike died. It was the furthest away part of the circuit and although he sussed that the tap was off, he wasn't allowed to rejoin. He was recovered back to the pit but we lost 35 minutes because of it. From there on it was head down flat chat to the finish. We lost about 25 laps but did a total of 130. We finished 31st out of 60 on the timing sheet. Because we didn't do the 134 laps required, which was 75 percent of the winners total, we weren't classified as finishing. We don't care though. We made it to the end, the team are elated and we're going to do it again.
  9. Get well soon sir. Trying and failing is better than not trying.
  10. Well, we finished. Yay! It was a fucking epic weekend. Many many disasters. I'll tell you about it later.
  11. Hi Vis vests with your choice of wording on that site 172896943881 £3.89. MOBILE CHICANE PASS ME SLOWLY CATCH ME IF YOU CAN You get the idea
  12. First race this morning was going perfectly until a wire snapped off 1&4 coil. Finished the race on 2 cylinders but in 10th place. Second race again was going to plan until the second last lap when the oil cooler blew. I managed to keep everyone behind me by employing the old racing technique "if you can't be fast, be wide" I borrowed another cooler from one of my rivals and went on to win the last race. Overall it was a decent weekend. I leave here leading the championship by 5 points.
  13. I hope so. Race 1 win 1. 3 races tomorrow.
  14. Qualified on pole. Had a look at the bike back in the pits. The cam chain tensioner cap and spring have gone AWOL, the front right engine mount was loose, front sprocket nut only held in place by the cover and one of the clip-ons was loose. All good! Here we go.
  15. First outing as a winged hammer. Hopefully all will go well.
  16. Yeah, good to meet you too. I'll get everything measured up and make some calls. I was just looking for a ballpark rate for the spring as ours is definitely undersprung.
  17. I saw that this had been moved to trick frames. I re-posted it in members projects for a wider audience. My bad as the kids say.
  18. Can anyone tell me the spring rate for the rear shock on a Harris Magnum 2? It has a proper monoshock as opposed to a rising rate setup so presumably the spring rate will be a lot stiffer. We took our endurance bike out for its first run today and apart from some teething problems it was lovely albeit a bit wallowy.

I got it on the bay. It cost£40 . Item No 253445467419 It is not particularly effective as a brake disc. You need to removed some of the material from the pads . But it's light and I don't use it anyway.

The test went reasonably well. I had gear change issues which felt like the return spring had come adrift but transpired to be a seized rose joint. The bike feels well planted and stable but not particularly fast. The wrong gearing didn't help. I'm running 14/48 but could easily go to 50 or 51 on the rear. It feel odd with only 5 gears. A bit lazy but I'll get used to it.

Leblowski, yes it will be good to meet up with other OSS dudes and dudettes for a blether and a beer. It's better to have lived and die in debt than to have a mundane life and a large bank balance. You can't take it with you.

Leblowski, do you race in CSBK or Proclassic? I am in two minds about whether to take 2 bikes and race in both. Or do they run at the same time?

First test is a week on Sunday. After that will be fettling and probably buying more stuff. Haven't got a head cooler yet but it's on the cards. Might even paint it.
