Mendoz Posted August 25, 2018 Posted August 25, 2018 (edited) I'm hoping someone can help me. I recently bought some replacement barrels and found a lip approximately 3/4 the way down the bore. Firstly, I can't see any reason for this damage. I checked the pistons that came with it and can't find any damage to them. Secondly, would it cause any problems with the running of the engine. I'm not sure if the rings go that far down for them to be affected by it. Edited August 25, 2018 by Mendoz Spelling Quote
Gixer1460 Posted August 25, 2018 Posted August 25, 2018 Possibly pistons placed in barrel to keep right piston with right cylinder, pushed past normal stroke ht. and some damp has got in and caused a bit or corrosion? If it is below the 'normal' wear line, a light hone should take it off. Quote
Mendoz Posted August 25, 2018 Author Posted August 25, 2018 Cheers Gixer1460. That's what I was thinking but just wanted someone else's opinion on it. Quote
wombat258 Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 Looks like corrosion stains. Light hone and run it. It should be OK. Quote
gsxkat Posted August 27, 2018 Posted August 27, 2018 The engine has probably been stood and used for a while. As everyone wlse said light hone and off you go! Quote
