Sprocket carrier

Had some weird vibrations and noise from the rear originally thought it was the rear caliper turned out to be the carrier. The question is should it have the tiny step as in the picture luckily had a spare carrier

LOL - are you gonna use that bearing again? Maybe not! Grease is cheap - use loads - Hi Moly Lithium good for bearings.

It was a 2 rs bearing so it had the rubber seals either side it was packed with grease

Have seen careers with that type of space before.

Everytime  I took the rear wheel out I always repacked in around the bearing with grease well it's got my spare carrier fitted at the moment until I get the replacement bearing and refit it
