Mike750 Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Hi all. I bought a 92 Gsxr 750 which won't stay in neutral it was a bike which was crashed and I bought. any idea can I fix this without take whole engine apart or can I get to the parts from a side cover ? O and it's cable clutch if that helps. Maybe a fork broken not sure . Appreciate the help thanks again Quote
Mike750 Posted August 17, 2017 Author Posted August 17, 2017 I and there wasn't any damage to the engine or gear lever either. Quote
wraith Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 You can split the crank cases without the need to remove the top end, you can then get to and see the hole gear box and forks you do need to remove the clutch basket. Quote
dupersunc Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 The most obvious reason it wont stay in neutral is if the spring for the detent wheel is broken. You can get to this with the sump removed but it will be a fiddle in the bike. Remove the sump will allow you to see if there are any major problems even though you'll need remove rhe lower case to actually replace anything. Removing the clutch and checking the selector ratchet mech is the next stage. Quote
