Steering damper on Slabby....

Frame!  So, considering the frame is box section shaped, how have any of you mounted it?

Front is gonna mount to Srad 50/54mm forks, so also in need of the appropriate clamp if anyone has one spare ;)

SES list fork clamps on eblag, about £25 and very neat.   I welded a boss to the frame on the last one I did.

My race Slabbie doesn't have a steering damper and doesn't need one. The only reason I fitted one on another bike was to meet some specific race regs.

I just drilled  a hole in the cast section and bolted it right on.  Only did it because I'd been told you had to have one on for the Manx (wrongly) when I went as a newcomer in 2012.  It was awful and I binned it after one lap.  Scrutineers thought I was mad with no damper but it didn't need one.  I did fit a borrowed Ohlins unit for the 2016 MGP and it only made it's presence felt once at the Milntown leap when it landed crossed up. One slap and I had it back under control.

Well as it's for a straight line drag bike, i should be ok!

Once everything is assembled, i'll look at drilling & sticking an Avdel nut in the triangular spar area to mount the damper holder bracket ;)

Actually a 50mm one might work if i attach it to top spar & use the 50mm fork diameter at top ;)
