The class no longer exists in its old form and i think there is a time out on the ET clocks now ... Have heard all sorts of tales of keeping a little in reserve , adjustment to throttle stops ,rev limiter Etc to slow a vehicle then set to "kill" in the actual race and then at the last moment shut off or brake once your ahead of the competition to try and avoid breaking out .... I ran some consistent 8.85 runs and qualified number 1 in acu etbike, then went through the rounds to win the event! First win for a couple of years. Claire Rule has won her first event after coming back from serious road bike injuries. 4 Quote

et1170 Posted April 6 Author Posted April 6 Been on a budget weight saving spree on the Kat over the last 3 months, lipo battery, drilling things, lighter triumph wheels and a stone off of myself, all in a bid to move up from etbike to the 8.50 bike class. 2nd run at the test day of easters festival of power showed the results. Pb down from 8.68 to 8.57 in decent conditions so competitive enough! Changed my entry from etbike to 8.50 bike and went for it. Due to storm force weather conditions the event was shortened to the 8th mile. With a 5.45 equivalent time to aim for. Ran 5.49 in the first 2 rounds to find myself in the semi final against no 1 qualifier Pete Wise. He red lit so I gave it the beans and became the first person to do a 5.45 on a 5.45 dial in! In the final against Paul Moriss I was away again, well in front when a missed shift cost me the win. Great weekend though. 3rd qualifier and runner up, can't be bad ! 12 Quote

et1170 Posted June 16 Author Posted June 16 Qualified in 4th with an 8.56 into a fair head wind. Saw off 2 modern suzukis to earn a bye into the final, best run was 8.55 so still a tiny room for improvement. Unfortunately my opponents shift solenoid packed up just before the final so I cruised to an 8.8 to take my first 8.50 bike event win . Excellent weekend and move on to the Summer Nationals in July. Pic of my second round victory by 12 thousanths of a second, I was flat out at 153mph, the busa turbo was coming at 169mph! 8 Quote
et1170 Posted September 16 Author Posted September 16 (edited) Last race of the season weekend of 26th at Santa Pods National Finals. A win and runner up place have put me heading the 8.50 bike championship, just. Its gonna be a tense weekend.
