Strangwooduk Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Okay guys I'm new here so hello to you all for a start I'm currently rebuilding a gsf600 with a few trick parts I'm wanting to have 2 underslung exhaust under the rider pegs I've been trying to find a cheap way of doing it but it seems pricey Now I've found that that GSX1400 has a 4 into 2 system with what looks like the perfect angles Has anybody ever tried it or seen it or can even suggest a cheap way of me doing this Thank you everyone Quote
teltwosheds Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 You could use a set off of an early to mid 90's gsx600f, they sit an inch lowerish under the sump, but will bolt straight on. 1 Quote
Oilyspanner Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 (edited) I think the 1400 has different bore centres, definitely a much longer stroke and the exhaust system is double walled to stop 'bluing' - so it's damn heavy, heavier than the duel silencer 1100's, which is heavy itself ! Use d.pipes from the related engines - GSXR 750/1100 or GSX750/1100F, they'll all need a little work, but the basic dimensions are all similar - the 1400 is a separate engine to the other oil cooled ones. I accidentally pressed the italic button, so the letters are on the slant ! Fixed that for you - CC Edited January 29, 2017 by Captain Chaos 1 Quote
kja.busa Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 I think it would be a lot of work to make the 1400 pipes fit, they also suffer corrosion on the collectors and associated parts, as the other guys have already said theres better and easier options. 1 Quote
wraith Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Early gsx600f and some gsx750f has 4/2 zorst and the headers will bolt strate on just need to make brackets up for your end cans. 2 Quote
