B2BC Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 stripped down my carbsĀ found a brass jet in carb 2 just sitting in the bowlno size on it no thread either cant seem to find where it from looks like it will just sit insidenot even sure if its from these carbs Quote
Captain Chaos Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 could be from the choke circuit, in the plastic float holder thing. They tend to fall out. Compare with another carb as Koko said. Quote
B2BC Posted July 10, 2015 Author Posted July 10, 2015 ive looked over the other carbs and cant see anything similar in any of them Quote
gixanator Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 isn't that a float bowl sealing wotsit?when the float rises the rubber bit jams in the fuel feed spigot stopping any more fuel.or not. Quote
B2BC Posted July 10, 2015 Author Posted July 10, 2015 the others dont have this piece ive fully checked them over all jets removed ect no sign of any others having thiscant seem to find a part schematics for these carbs either on the net Quote

B2BC Posted July 10, 2015 Author Posted July 10, 2015 all my float bowls have the brass screw in jet at the bottom same as that picture on the link you put up.its not the float valve pin pictured its the brass pin next to it i took a photo like that for size comparisonĀ it was just sitting in bottom of float bowl 2 and ive stripped these down and theres now where it would fit i think its fell in there on a previous overhaul from last owner. Quote
Captain Chaos Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 look in the plastic float assembly. There should be some brass bit in there, it's from the choke circuit. Quote
gixanator Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 from what i can glean from the interweb, the "jet" they show in pic 2 is a press fit rather than a screw fit but can't be absolutely sure.Your assumption it's a left over from a previous rebuild seems a good shout.Sure someone who's worked on these will be able to sort it for you. gixanator Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 page 50 shows a spray procedure that looks like that little jet in a brass tube, is that it? Quote
B2BC Posted July 10, 2015 Author Posted July 10, 2015 i think cc has it spot on just checked and the brass jet fits into same as pictured only problem is all the others are missing and only have 1shouldnt be a problem should it if all are missing ? Quote
B2BC Posted July 10, 2015 Author Posted July 10, 2015 just found a set of old 600 gsxf carbs and they have exact same brass jet in float same size shape and hole size so ill replace all missing ones with theseĀ thanks for help lads Quote
Captain Chaos Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 a mate had a Triumph Trophy with 36mm Mikuni carbs which was a bitch to start cold on the choke. Investigation revealed that 3 of the 4 brass jets had come out of the plastic bits.I installed them securely and everything was fine again (as far as everything can be fine with a Trophy). Quote
