GSXR1100 engine oil seal behind ignition rotor

Hi, new to this so hopefully I've got it right. Does anyone know if the crank oil seal that site behind the ignition rotor can be changed without splitting the crank cases ? cheers.

Hi and welcome to group therapy.

There is no oil seal on that side of the crankshaft. It's supposed to be oily around the ignition pick-up.

That's brilliant news. I am re-commissioning an engine an engine and ran it with the ignition cover off and quite a bit of oil was pissing out. I thought the worst , obviously. I'll put the cover back on and forget about it. Thanks for your reply , that's helped me loads.
