Jdeac1981 Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Hi all been looking for info on bandit looms. I've been offered a mk2 bandit loom but I have a mk1 engine. my question is can I switch to th mk2 loom if I also switch cdi etc. hope someone can help. Cheers in advance jon Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 easy peasy, get a mark 2 pick up, neutral switch and alternator and all wil be fine no chopping plugs all fits together simples. oh yes you need to attatch the speedo pjck up to the output shaft,u less you have a speedo drive on the front wheel and mark 1 clocks?? Jdeac1981 Posted June 1, 2016 Author Posted June 1, 2016 Thanks for the reply. couple of things by mk2 pick up do you mean ignition pickup? If yes is that a straight forward swap (remove old mk1 bolt in mk2) neutral switch and and alternator I take would be a straight swap speedo drive is this important as I was going to run digital clocks with magnet pick up soerry for all the questions I've only ever done work on the oil cooled Gsxr 750's cheers jon Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 yup straight swop, the 3 little screws are loctited in and made of cheese, so plan on replacing them.. neutral switch two screws, mind the spring and plunger dosent fall out, alternator just swops, bearing in mind the drive gear engagement problem.. i used mark 2 bandit clocks so wanted the spedo sensor to work, so fitted a mk2 600 sprocket cover with the leccy sensor, and drilled and tapped the gearbox shaft and fitted the castelated rotor.. Jdeac1981 Posted June 2, 2016 Author Posted June 2, 2016 Cheers for answering my questions. I take it there would be now affect to other parts of the loom leaving the speedo wires disconnected? Cheers jon Quote
