Hi,

Quick question.

Is it the GSXR1127 pistons that can be used to make a GSX1100 1260.

I believe that the wrist pin position is different and so the block and liners have to be shortened.

Any info would be good thanks.

Yes you can use say what 1127 pistons to do a 1260 but as they have 20mm pins so only work on the 1135cc EFE crank / engine  ......

you also need to deck the block 2mm and shorten the front tensioner blade the same amount.............."well mine worked out that way"  along with slotted sprockets to the timing right

liners do end up thin at the bottom so you do need to keep it cool.....

Cheers for the advice.

I didn't think about the cam chain blade.

Is the standard cam chain ok, or do you have to use something shorter? With 2mm off the block that's a equal to 4mm too long on the cam chain.

Any idea what sort of cr this combo would give you.

Thanks... Si..

I used a stock length cam chain...manual tensioner ....C/R was 10:5 - 1   on the EFE one I did ..i could have gone another .5 with a thinner gasket 9_9

I did another with a gsxr head that was nearer 11:5 - 1 :D

But you really need to do a dry build to get the deck height and rest off the sums right to what you want...:)
