Im just finishing off a customers draw through GSXR and we want to fit a facet style pump to make sure there is adiquate fuel supply, ive got the reg already. Wat size pump should I need for say 300hp?

I used one of these with a HSR 42 & 45  https://www.fuelpumpsonline.co.uk/facet-low-pressure-fuel-pump-road-40104-15-4psi-5-p.asp

with a 1 to 5 psi regulator   But HSR dont like much over 1.5 psi  ..

Never used a pump with an S&S as the bowl is huge so a high flow tap worked fine "caveat on the road was best to keep tank over half full"

Interesting Clive. I know that when Sean / Woody were running the Spondon Kat Turbo with a HSR 45 / 48, they used to experience fuel starvation ie. bowl got drained faster than fuel could be pumped. That was using one of the tubular Red / Gold top Facet pumps. I believe the cure / fix was a drilled out float valve + higher pressure (3+ or more psi) such that flow was excessive at idle so engine had to be revved (as if ridden by a right tool) constantly to avoid flooding stall - once launched, full flow was enough to stop a lean condition.

I think if any decent amount of boost is likely ( at least with a blow through) it might be better to use a EFI type pump with decent FPR and tank return. If a draw through with multiple carbs then maybe a Red / Gold top Facet may work ok.

I acquired along with some other Turbo stuff a BigCC modified HSR 45 as you describe quite a few years ago "I was told they also changed the needle"  i ran it with a duel feed one gravity and the other pumped at 4 Psi operated from a WOT switch to overcome the "right tool need"

It was no better or worse than the S&S Super E i had been using ET & MPH wise

On a road bike a Well set up HSR is a little more friendly around town / in traffic  But a S&S super E also works just make sure you get a later one with changeable intermediate jet...

On a Drag Bike S&S super E ..every time for me ..much cheaper and only needs jets changed "get some no drills" you can also add a Power Jet if you like..

Both the Big Cc Kat's also used Nos at times as well  Sean bought the Yellow one bag a few years ago and was rebuilding it injected blow thru

Woody's Misses acquired the Spondon Kat as a Big birthday Pressie for him a few years ago and is now used on the road  ..

UKs Quickest Road bike based Draw Thru "7.9" is Wizz's  1216 Slabbie that uses an "Agricultural" S&S super B and no Nos  "it would maybe go a little quicker with Jockey" .........

The HSR was / is predominantly used on single cylinder MX bike's prior to new fangled Fi

Both are £££ now but ting tong copies can be found for less than £100

Wasn't really talking carb problem - more eluding to a Facet Cube pump's capacity to make 300hp reliably? Might manage for a few seconds but sustained ?

sorry yes :tu i was only in the 240 beans area .......

300bhp draw thru would be an animal on road

i dont think i,ve ever used WOT for a sustained period on road TBH    bends and other 5hite came up to quick

This is a dragbike only, its previously been gravity fed but was told to best use a fuel pump to help it, the 300hp was just a figure that was mentioned it may make, the chances are with the chassis itll probably not run more than 220-250hp

its an S&S thing thats on it, its not realy my fortay, im just trying to fix all the shit that was wrong with it lol

If it's a super e I can email you S & S tuning guide

Another option is to pressurise tank with a few psi of boost ...
