Gsx-r 750 88 Japan info wanted

Bought this Slingshot last weekend from first Dutch owner who had it from 1994. Is is a Japanese (JDM) bike but I didn't knew the existence of this colour scheme (the red stripes and blue wheels aren't stock, the rest is).

Because I'm keeping the bike to restore I love to hear some info about it. I already googled a few evenings in English and Japanese but couldn't find much about it.

Year: 1988

Stickers: Hyper Endurancer (instead of Hypersport)

Engine nr: -0000650 (is this an very early one? Or does Suzuki not count from 1 ?)

What I already found or know:

- I don't think it's gold or something ;) just like the bike to restore.

- it is stock

- theres a gsxr 400 1988 in the same colour scheme

- saw on another forum and heard from someone ''jubi Japan model, only 300 were made''

Pic of the bike.

There was a 1988 1100 in the same colours too, have seen more in Australia than over here. I'm not sure what they're celebrating - did they win the Suzuka 8 hr ?    It was only the colours that were different, no extra bits that I could tell. I hadn't seen a 750 in that livery before, so a Japanese market thing I guess.

^^^that's a lovely bike that is....oh....hang on!

Yep, as far as I know, it was a Japan only paintscheme. Mine's an import with a kmph speedo. I bought it on impulse 10 years ago as I'd had a slabby in the same colours (C694 LMB where are you now?)
