simesman Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 Rev counter on the GS1000 started wobbling after 5000rpm so changed the cable for a cheapo replacement I had in my spares box, but that one dithers at low revs! Anyone got a recommendation for a supplier of decent cables? Venhill don't seem to do them. Quote
Duckndive Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 TACHO CABLE (34940-37312) Old Part Number 34940-49011 Mr Suzuki charges a mere £42 for them Have you checked the drive gear in the head is no damaged "its not uncommon" 1 Quote
simesman Posted June 5, 2023 Author Posted June 5, 2023 Yeah, not paying Mr. Suzuki, although they would be the best cables. Will check the head but assuming it is cable related as the two examples I have get wobbly at different places. Quote
Dezza Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 Try a Slinky Glide cable from Wemoto, after first checking that the inner part of the one you have isn't bone dry/corroded. 1 Quote
simesman Posted June 5, 2023 Author Posted June 5, 2023 Thanks, I like Wemoto but the picture they have (maybe generic) for the cable looks like the cheapo Chinese cables. If you have had good experience with them, I will give them a go, thanks. Quote
Dezza Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 Slink Glides are a quality product at a fraction of the cost of OEM. I have one of their clutch cables and it's really good. They also have stainless inners, unlike OEM 1 Quote
simesman Posted June 5, 2023 Author Posted June 5, 2023 Brilliant, thanks. Ordered tacho and speedo cables. Couldn't see a clutch cable otherwise would have had one of them too, for me spares box! Quote
