rodneya Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 These look and fit pretty good, and I like the spring mounts. What are they like performance wise? Im thinking of putting a set on my Kat with a CF oval can. Quote
bitzz Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 Being Canadian, Hindle is my default choice. I bought my first Hindle exhaust in 1983 or 84. Still have it. I have the first GS1000 Hindle pipe (that's my GS on their website... it doesn't look like that anymore). I think I have had a Hindle pipe on every 4 stroke racer I've run I won't make any performance promises for them, but Team USA uses Hindle pipes. I'll tell you they're no better or worse than any other REAL aftermarket performance pipe, and a LOT lighter than anything from back in the day... and it's 4 to 2 to 1, so it has better mid-range than anything that isn't. Fit and finish is good, and they're the cheapest pipe for us Canadians. What's not to love? Quote
krazy kat Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 You cannot go wrong with Hindle. Real light and the fit is nice. Quote
rodneya Posted January 24, 2023 Author Posted January 24, 2023 I really don't like the trumpet muffler looks, thats why I am looking at just the header. It may be the cheapest option in Canada, but its still much cheaper for me to buy in the US. Free shipping to my mailbox right at the border. Quote
bitzz Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 Pretty sure your get to choose your muffler https://www.hindle.com/road-race/mufflers Quote
krazy kat Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 You can get that header off Eblag in U.S. cheaper than from manufacture. Ripple Rock Racers builds them, they have all the old jigs and use the hindle name. They make a large pipe version if you have that kind of power think there in Ontario. Quote
keith Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 put a full hindle on my gs1000 to replace the shit one i got from webike.power went from 110 t0 122 bhp. 1 Quote
rodneya Posted March 12, 2023 Author Posted March 12, 2023 If you order the full exhaust the only option is the megaphone muffler. Other mufflers are available, but they will not fit without mods. My Kat frame is widened to fit the swingarm / 6" wheel and I wanted to use the oval muffler, so I needed to make some changes. I extended the link pipe and changed the angle a bit. Made a new hanger from some stainless to keep everything in place and Im quite happy with it. Not too loud either. Now if it just warms up a bit I can go for a rip. 3 Quote
