Gsx1100 engine number

Hello…back again …thanks for your help with my last question….I’ve got a GSX1100 motor..serial number …GS110X..113559…can anyone tell me the year…I’ve been on all the Google sites and I’ve lost the will to live…P.S….it’s in a GS1000 frame so no point cross checking the frame number…cheers POGSTER

you can get an idea from the colour, mines factory black and they came out around 83,  80 to 82 where silver.  but be careful it hasn't been painted by someone.   not much help though, sorry.

looking like a 79 to1980 model T according to my old haynes  book

Have a look at the cam cover. The later covers have additional holes at the front either side of the centre hump for the camchain.
