FJD Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 (edited) I have a 99 12 Bandit, which has an oil valve stem problem me thinks its oiling plug 1&2 when start up from cold, smokes, and plugs fire only when cap is removed/refitted, runs fine then. So i think of pulling the head, but as spring is approaching, i dont like to take the whole engine out. Is it do-able ? Lowering engine required ? Edited March 28, 2022 by FJD Quote
Simbec1863 Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 (edited) Did it on my 600 race bike so assume the 1200 will be much the same Edited March 28, 2022 by Simbec1863 Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 Yes its no problem, a bit tight for room, but not difficult, I don't understand what you say about removing and replacing the plug caps and then it runs alright?? Are the plugs sparking and are they a wet with fuel??.. it could be the fuel taps passing and cylinder 1 and 2 are full of petrol and the smoke is fuel in the exhaust burning off.. Id check the carbs before pulling the head off. 2 Quote
