Price was nice, took half a year though. Was delivered polished like chrome, no dents or scratches or imperfections. Best alloy tank we have ever seen, perfect replica, perfect welds, so beautiful he did not paint it. Quote

I have the same issue with a Moto Martin. These tanks are small to begin with, so a tank in a tank would reduce fuel capacity even further. Fortunately Martin sells the tankseats still, in modern material that can handle modern fuel. Think i'll go that way. But if you know of fuel blatters or something else ... lemme know please. Quote

Markz9 Posted July 14, 2024 Author Posted July 14, 2024 (edited) Bit of an update on the rickman cr the full fat race engine is in, and I have had it running the exhaust going to need a bit more work as its leaking like a sieve and popping managed to find a pingle fuel tap and fitted to the rear of the tank that is also accessible with gloves on originally I had decided it was all black with gold rickman pin stripes but I think I might not paint the tank now also possibly British racing green and gold I also have two options depending on the class I race in 18 inch wheels 37mm forks 2 pot brakes etc or 17 inch Astralites and 43mm forks 4 pot brakes not going to be ready for chimay but getting there slowly Edited July 14, 2024 by Markz9 Spelling 8 Quote

Markz9 Posted January 29 Author Posted January 29 Managed to send some sketches (that’s probably an over statement, fag packers drawing ) up to gsxrsam for the rickman engine mounts and a billet/heavy duty points cover, as usual its come back perfect thanks Sam Next job is to strip the bike to get it nickel plated which I am not looking forward to Last few bits Maxton cartridge forks built and fitted race top yoke make alloy rearsets finish exhaust nickle plate frame + other bits and stiffen around swingarm mount Enter test and track ngrrc at Combe 5 Quote
Markz9 Posted February 28 Author Posted February 28 Forks are back from Maxton fitted with compression and rebound option and with a nifty little cap on the top to cover the adjusters And some ti bolts although my diet is probably more efficient 4 Quote

Hi it’s one of the Indian jobs about £250 delivered including cap had to muck about with it underneath and fit a pingel tap outlet, but much quicker than waiting a year or two for tab or the tank shop to make one 2 Quote
Markz9 Posted May 5 Author Posted May 5 As usual left things a bit late, after having another look at the rickman frame and more specifically the swingarm pivot point i decided to come up with an additional method of stiffening it up and hopefully stop any weaving I have a z9 and managed to stop that shaking it head but ended up cutting out all of the original steel out around the pivot Quick whizz over to get sif brazing done and it’s currently with the original rickman platers for some shiny nickle 5 Quote
Markz9 Posted May 23 Author Posted May 23 And back from the nickel platers in sunny hampshire the are the original company that did the rickman frames so sticking the bike back together ready for some racing 8 Quote
