dedubyah Posted September 4, 2021 Posted September 4, 2021 What would the recommendation be for the softest set of pads for my 1978 GS1000 with std calipers? I dont want to modify it by changing to later model calipers etc as its still completely stock Quote
Gixer1460 Posted September 5, 2021 Posted September 5, 2021 Just buy std. Suzuki pads then! Most aftermarket brands are moving to mixes of organic and sintered metal, or fully sintered which wear discs excessively. Quote
dedubyah Posted September 6, 2021 Author Posted September 6, 2021 Are they even still available? Quote
BigT Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 EBC makes great organic brake pads, I've been using them for years. They also have semi metallic pads No disc wear issues noted in 42 years Quote

I see Alphasports list EBC Organic pads as an OEM replacement on some of the GS1000 models and EBC do say their Organics are a direct OEM replacement - so looks like that is probably the only way open ! dedubyah Posted September 11, 2021 Author Posted September 11, 2021 I dont really care about how long they last, just give the best feel and stopping power with the original brakes. Quote
Rijko Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Brembo used to make a really good brake pad, now discontinued. I like those best, never had other pads that good. NOS original ones come second for me. Quote
