Ted M Posted November 4, 2015 Share Posted November 4, 2015 Hi All, I would like your opinion please. I am rebuilding my Bandit 1200 engine. It has done 80000 miles and 5th gear went tits up. I have got the bits to sort this, my problem/query is do I do the big ends and main bearings whilst the engine is in bits as a precautionary measure. There were no knocks rumbles or strange noises prior to the strip. I have had a look at the main bearings and there is very little in the way of marks just some shiny wear patches, the journals look fine too. Quote Link to comment

suzook12 Posted November 14, 2015 Share Posted November 14, 2015 I would get some plastigauge and check the clearances before deciding whether or not to replace the shells.
