Hi

I have just acquired a 1992 1100f power screen. Turns over fires, occasionally back fires sometimes starts but not tick over.

Sounds as if running on 3. Not done anything with it but will replace plugs air filter and eventually oil and oil filter if I can get it to run.

Any known faults.

I suspect fuel, carbs, coil, leads etc

Where should I look first

Thanks in advance

Welcome to OSS.

You might get better info on the power screen 1127 oil cooled bike in the oil cooled section ;)

How long has it been from it last was started?

I'd start with new fuel and check you have a spark on all 4 plugs, if its been stud for any time a carb clean maybe in order.

If it's been stood,  suspect pilot circuit.  Getting good fuel flow through the tap? Pull the plugs and check they're clean, gapped correctly and a good spark. Battery fully charged? IMHO you're looking at cleaning the carbs though.

Thanks for the suggestions

Any pitfalls in stripping the carburettor

Should I assume I can reuse gaskets

The gaskets are rubber, so yes can be reused.

Provided you don't - nick em, rip em, or lose them!

They can go hard and do split / break on disassembly and are also prone to being flattened due to age and so leak on reassembly.
