I use these which you can get from just about anywhere

Cut it in half to get this

Then crimp the wires together using these

Then slide some heat sink over

I use these with the correct crimping tool, then usually adhesive lined head shrink over the top

Yes you can, your cdi itself will be wired much the same as it is now but drawing its power from the M Unit rather than the fusebox
