Reddragon Posted April 30, 2019 Posted April 30, 2019 When you do a swap for the standard oil cooler and lines, do you need anything to seal the fittings that go into where the banjo bolts would be, as in do they need a copper washer, o ring or thread tape ? Quote
Jelly Posted April 30, 2019 Posted April 30, 2019 New copper washers should be enough, or some people heat them so they remould. Quote
jensvonbustenskjold Posted April 30, 2019 Posted April 30, 2019 I second heat. I use propane torch on those. Not much to it. Quote
Reddragon Posted April 30, 2019 Author Posted April 30, 2019 Cheers fellas, this is all new territory for me, only info i could find was about cutting the braided hose Quote
Reddragon Posted May 1, 2019 Author Posted May 1, 2019 (edited) What about these 2, do they seal using compression or do i need thread tape ? Edited May 1, 2019 by Reddragon Quote
370steve Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 they seal themselves when you screw them together, but a very light smear of liquid gasket wont hurt Quote

The adapter screws into the sump and requires a copper or aluminium washer of the correct size. No tape needed. The hose fitting comes apart and the threaded bit that comes off goes over the new hose. It should be a fairly tight fit. The rubber part of the hose goes on the spigot that is now exposed by removing the collar but the external braiding goes over the lip that goes around the outside of where the rubber inner hose goes on. Oil the braiding then screw the threaed collar back onto the fitting and tighten. There will be youtubes videos that show you how to do this. Quote
