caferacerdan Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 looking to brace my slabby 11 frame up at the headstock area where the wiring usually goes through. Will be cutting a hole through the plate for a small amount of wiring but my main question is for those who have done this... What thickness plate did you use for the plating? Quote
canamant Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 Cregnybaa's standard framed 1100 slabbies have done 115 - 116mph laps on the TT Mountain Course on standard unbraced frames and swingarms with not a twitch or wobble. 1 Quote

clivegto Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 Only about 2mm on my 2 750 braced frames. Would not bother bracing the 1100 frame head stock. 1 Quote

Guest YoshiJohnny Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 bracing was only really needed on the early 750 frames as they were made from pipe cleaner sized tubing... the 1100 slabby onwards were made of more serious stuff. If it gives you piece of mind then yeah 1.5 or 2mm plate will work... or you could go banzai and get Colin at TPE to do this Quote
