Gilfi Posted March 9, 2019 Posted March 9, 2019 Hey guys, I have put a 17 Inch Wheel on my kat but now I'm concerned that the speed is not correct on the Tacho. Does anyone know where the gear reduction takes place, at the Wheel or in the instruments? If in the instruments is it possible to change them by getting proper ones (from where?)? If at the Wheel does anyone know which later model piece would fit? For example from a later model Blandit or so? Thanks Quote
wraith Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 I've got a gsxr1100 front end on my Kat and I'm still using the Kat clocks, I've not been done for speeding (yet) when I've got past a speed camera. Quote
arnout Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 I believe (Suzuki) speedo drives are matched to the wheel size, so the cable driving the tacho is turning at the same speed whatever (Suzuki) donor front end you're using. Worked out well on my EFE and Kat with donor front ends, as in that the speedo is still exaggerating as much as before. Quote
inazumarob Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 I was wondering if you could borrow a GPS cycle Speedo of somebody, you could also use a phone strapped to the bike to get a true reading. The other way is to get someone to follow you and compare speeds at prearranged signals and speeds. Quote
