  1. Had another great weekend at the mainly vw big bang event at Santa Pod . its amazing the effect of the wind on the brick of a Katana. it was pretty much calm and my second run was 10.49 secs , around 2 tenths quicker than into the wind the week before. My best qualifying run came on the sunday when the wind had picked up a bit. 10.60 on 10.58 dial in. This gave me 3rd place . I had a bye in the first round due to an exploding tl1000 and nailed a good light and time to put out Joe Elliots nice BMW 1000 in the semi final. For the second week it was me and Phil in the final , and he just did it again! I beat him to the line but ran .002 under my 10.57 dial in . bugger. The season continues without a gap at SCR this weekend. May just manage an oil change before then. Heres a vid of the final , if it works.

  2. 17991370_10155206184565948_6609261151471Had a great weekend at the Pod. In Friday qualifying I was a bit rusty and ended the day in 9th place after an 11 second first run and a 10.8 breakout . The weather improved Saturday and with the headwind now a sidewind I ran a 10.6 to breakout again! Last chance to move up I dialled in 10.65 and ran 10.74 which was a relief. I ended qualifying 8th in a 15 bike field. in round 1 of eliminations on sunday I was up against Chris Neary on his busa turbo. He had been having issues and did again as I ran 10.71 on a 10.69, happy with that. Round 2 was against Dave Grundy on his very consistent Triumph . A couple of wheelies for him and a 10.66 on a 10.65 and I was into the semis. Alfie Udall on his Harley dragster was up next. I lowered my index to 10.62 and ran 10.68 with Alfie having some problems I found myself in the Final against Phil Pratt on the lovely Satans Lady Suzuki 1000. I left the 10.62 dial in but the wind was slightly up and I ran a 10.72 giving Phil a fairly close run , but the better man won on the day, with 3 9.04 runs on the trot with a 9.03 dial in he was almost un beatable. Got a trophy for the winged hammers thoughand had a good weekend of beers and racing so cant be bad.

Well , my bikes still in bits but im entered in the festival of power and big bang at the pod. sold some bits to pay for entry fees , looking like a 1 man team so grabbing help at each round where I can. Bike has had the crankshaft refreshed by sep, my cams were worn badly but got a decent looking set from kevin marshal for nowt. thanks Kev . 5. My first real go at proper drag racing last year in the et bike series. 4 rounds at scr and 4 at the Pod. A great variety of bikes and a nice bunch of people and got hammered at every event. My times were around the 10.7 mark which I could hit fairly consistently. The entries were the highest out of all the bike classes at most events . I managed to sneak my way into the final at a couple of events at the Pod but finished runner up twice. My consistency gave me 2nd overall in the SPRC . I only lost out in the final of the final round to Wayne Bradley on his bmw due to a dodgy red light, I know I never rolled back! A win in that final would have given me the championship. Not bad for my first year.

  6. Had a few runs with eblag slick , 2 step and lock up clutch , bars were from a reputable old skooler , thanks clive. managed 9.8 at 145 and will go back to this set up , maybe next year. Fancy a turbo over next winter!  Them bits all removed now so I can do some consistent slower times in the et bike championship.  Daughter and as was junior sprinter son in the background.

  7. Thought I would bore you a bit with a brief  history of my bike , where the bits come from etc. The engine came from a tired gsx1100et I got from Birmingham on Eblag for £400 in 2011 ish, he had a Kat too so may be on here? I 1170`d it , got a flowed head from Eblag for £200 , long swinger from Eblag , won kit from...........   the theme is Eblag here. and managed 9.91 which I was happy with,
