  3. Hi Katanamangler The issue seems to have been petrol and plugs. New fuel and plugs (+ carb cleaner) resulted in familiar GSX easy starting. best Glen

  10. Does anyone have the tightening sequence for sump bolts?
  11. Once again Old Skool is best. Due to the design of the sump drain will drill and tap to next size. The casting has slots to allow oil drainage which would be blocked by inserts like helicoils and I'm a bit paranoid about plug failure leading to expensive and depressing consideration of parts prices..

  18. I'm thinking that whatever the cause it won't do any harm to replace coils, rings and gaskets whilst doing some checking, honing and gapping. you guys are amazingly helpful so thanks again. I appreciate all your advice.

  22. didn't check compression with oiled bores. Strip down shows no damage to valves, pistons or bores. With compression readings and age of poor old girl, honing and new rings probably overdue...
