I did think that the GS1000 was a round pot but a mate of mine has a GS750 and that has a similar square pot on top.

Mine were goosed!!! Looks like someone had tried to silicone them in the past. Did you also order the O rings?

I searched for a while for my GS850, ended up getting some new ones from CMS. Not cheap at 35.00 Euros each but they'll last a few years. Possibly the right ones but double check the part numbers.
