Trying to figure these carbs out. Bought as BST38's badly altered to fit a Ford Pinto & the inlets confirm that. I then sourced enough parts to return em to std, or so i thought?
I've been told the 38's have a rubber tube powerjet which my other set have, but these have the rigid brass tube?
So what models ran the 38's & were there variants in Foreign models?
Pics i have is after i rebuilt them.

Always rubber mount mine top & bottom as a matter of course!

And a lock washer

Had the Cheeepies on the SF, Yoshi, Efe, Drag bike & whatever comes next. Not a single problem.
Only issue i had was the cheep AN10 connector to it that blew off on shakedown & dumped 3L of oil over the garage floor
-
Saw that the spring & rod seal are the same, but the piston seal appears to be different. Hence my enquiry about 2 different sized slaves?
-
Always wondered this cos somewhere in the back of my foggy mind i thought there were actually 2 different sizes of slaves on the oilers? However i may be well wrong.
But my question is the B12 2001> the same as the Pre 2001 B12 & it appears the GSX1100F too?
Asking cos the kit prices are £10 more for the pre ones & i need 2 kits for a 2000 B12 & 90's 1100F so could save about £20 if i got the later options

That's why i said Box Section. Much less chance it's gonna be bent. And if you do it properly, then it will be aligned!
-
Haha Should have known better. Timber warps! I used a box section steel rod clamped to front sprocket & line up to the rear.
And also if the "rear sprocket" is on at an angle, what you really mean is the "Wheel" is not properly aligned.
Highly unlikely the sprocket is on at an angle, unless you really shouldn't be let near tools

Buy a 750 slabby or slingshot frame for a 7/12 with the aim of the finished bike to be at least 40kg lighter than a stock 1200 Blandit
I happen to have a Slabby 7 frame too. It's what direction i go with

Just bought this B12 lump & bits. Question is, what the fuck shall i do with it

As above, both my EFE & Yoshi run 520 c&s kits

I wouldn't go less than 4mm, & as said different rubber makes a difference. Always found Pirelli/Dunlop as the least wide options.
-
had a similar issue with the rear wheel "tightness" I found that the K series rears have a wider hub than the Busa, so i swapped mine & line up was a tad easier.
But same as you, i had to shave down the carrier bolts. I then bought some tab locks & 1/2 nuts to sort that issue
Third pic is a shaved down carrier which can also give you more mm's to play with. Oh & a 180 tyre

TBH it could go pretty much anywhere where there's airflow
I'd like to see it done like the Sp1 &2s

Enter Leigh Russon and his lump hammer & chisel

Always a risk of the quality if you're nowhere near to em. Who are they & mebbe you might get a recco.
Or even get a 2nd hand braced swinger (srad/R1 etc) Cut it off & get a local Ally welder to sort it for a lot less than £210
-
I'll have another set if you got owt left. Might as well bang em in the 34's i have.
Wondering if they'd work in the EFE &GS CV's i have???
-
As per "general" post on Motobatt batteries, avoid em now.
I always sung their praises until 2 failures in 2 years.
Turns out they're made in China now & the QC on them is terrible.
Last supplier i got off said to me he's dropping them cos of so many returns

Unless they're 91/92 model bodies, they're not gonna be much use. 40's were only used on these years

so not stock emulsion tubes then ?
Don't look it, but easiest way to tell is if you have any size Mikuni jet & it won't screw in, then they're DJ

So they're 34's?
-
Must be my eyes, inlet side looks like 34mm to me?
Which would suggest they're off a GSX1100F/G but then again, they don't have a choke knob, but run a cable to the bars!
GSXR Carb ID Again?

Cheers for that, so that brass pipe is not the P/jet? I really wonder what they could be then cos they are definitely 38's!
And these are the set i plan to use on the Drag bike. Bar the tubes & the general butchery the last owner did, they're pretty much the same?
