It went 10.5 flat @ 141 and got runner up at a Straightliners event with my lardy arse on board - you being a featherweight should crack serious 9's with the 'big boys' turbo!

Well that sounds like it's going to be just perfect for start stop traffic to and from work!xD:)xD

Looks great, I use 530 on my Turbo bikes snapped one of them as as well. I only use top quality chains now. Wouldn't really want to trust a 520 on a turbo bike myself.

Thanks clive, its good to have some real feedback. I may change it when i actually start riding it!xDxDxD

    Fuck me that's changed a bit ! ! !

I can't believe it went to you 5 years ago - as you say - time flies! What happened to the old Blow thro stuff, as if you still have it, i'd buy it back, then I could progress the new tech suck through? I'm glad it's still giving the thrill you had when you picked it up.

@Gixer1460Sorry young man, it went to the man Big D. I still get a smile everytime when i go into the garage. I do get friends/family/workmates asking/bitching when it's going to be on the road?... It seems like everybody but me is in a rush to get it done!xDxD FUCK EM!.

  4. A few more pics of where i am now...

Got the seat sprayed... slightly different colour! FFS. But eh doesn't matter right now.

Also picked up a swing arm from Dave whilst i was there.

Got 6" rear wheel from @jonny1bumpfor said arm.

I have gone for a 520 conversion to avoid chain contact with the frame. I am using a drag chain from grumpy1260 and JT Sprockets. Anybody in the know think i have done the right thing or should i got for frame cut out  and use more heavy duty drive gear?.

So i thought i would do a little update, not that I myself have done a lot to it, Cos i am a lazy git, and life got in the way!.

It went off to The man... Big D... FBM... Fast By Me Turbos!

These pics may not be in order, but hey pics are always good.

Got a one piece tail unit from webike japan... fuck me that was expensive!. Fitted that and off it went to FBM.

I like the stance, standard'ish, but not.

No, I put a clamp just after the pipes left the oilcooler  onto the bottom yoke then ran them over the top of the engine to the oil take off (which is at the back on the GS)

You could do the same with a oilcooled motor but giving a bit of slack from the headstock to the bottom yoke then run the pipes down the frame rails.

I was using AN8 pipes as, one they don't take up as much room as the 10, two they have a bit more flex in them and three I always think AN10 pipes look way to big on a bike and a bit overkill, but that's just me.

Thank you @wraith. All tips acknowledged. Yokes was my first thought but couldn't really find much info about it. Good to know it does work. Thanks bud.

Didn't have a firing on my GS, the cooler was mounted with brackets from the bottom/top yoke and it turned with the forks/yokes.

Thanks @wraith. Yes, It would be easier to mount it off the yokes.

Did you have any issues with the pipes always flexing/fatigue on the fittings or anything like that?.

    cheers.

Did it years ago on a tuned GS1000 (no pics, way before dig camera ) put it under the twin spots ;)

Cheers for the reply @wraith. Where the spots on a frame of some sort?, or did the turn with the forks?.

I just put up a pic of the bracket on mine, was yours anything like that?.

    cheers bud.

Cheers for the reply @dupersunc. its a Z1000J. Thats a strong looking mount there. How do you mount it to the frame?.

All i have is a mount like this on the headstock... Well actually that IS the mount on the headstock! Hahaaa.

Any ideas would be excellent thank you bud.

  10. Afternoon...

So, has anybody here mounted their oil cooler upfront?, if so, how have they done it?, any pics, and best design for mount/subframe please.

Also any recommendations for people who could do it down yer in the southwest.

    Thank you...

  11. Evening peoples,

sad i know, but i think i have just seen an advert for home and away *cough *cough...

there is a KATANA in it, is it anybody's on here by any chance?.

not that i have got one, just interested

    cheers

  12. Daaaaaamn i am slow!. Just a few things happened from my last post, finally got her running... Fookin shit myself when it fired up!!. Lots of smoke, noise and squealing!. Well the squealing was me, in delight hahahaaa. Got bodywork painted, bit premature (not for the first time!) still in dry build mode. I think i have found the look i want?, shorter rear end, but dont really want to cut the frame though. This where my conundrum starts, do i cut and get what i want? Or should i not?. Would still look good original seat length. What do you reckon boys?...

    Email does work tha knows!

GSXR plenty oil pressure so a dash 3 or 4 is fine and without restrictor - just use BIG drain -10 or -12 better !

hahahaaaa thanks man!. yes it does, and dont worry, i expect i WILL be bothering you at a later date!. finally got a bit of time off when all the relevent shops are open!... thank fook!

  14. hi all.

this maybe a bit of a novice question but...

what size pipes/fittings do you chaps use for lubrication your draw through turbo set ups?.

i need to make a pipe for mine and am unsure what to go for?.

does it need a restrictor or is that for bearing turbos?. i have a gerrett t2.

    cheers.
