  1. Hi How has the swap gone? Cheers Jan
  2. Great build, Very inspiring for my own build!
  3. I know! I’m a bit tiered of making Cafe racers with modern suspension and brakes as I have done this during years. For this one I’m more keen making a classical road-racer style as I never made this before
  4. I have the swingarm ready and fitted with a R1 shocker, I don’t know how good or bad the OEM callipers brakes but I’m restoring them as well to have the option to leave the bike all original if wanted, to be honest I still haven’t made up my mind what kind of suspension/brakes to use...
  5. The wide wheels set are for tyres, I still have to blaster the oem wheel and beguine restoring them as well. chassis is of for powder coating, this will take more than one week as I have it to Tenerife. Whe don't have any workshop at Gran Canaria who powder coat....
  6. Ok great news, The engines I have been working with in the past has been all with Nikasil... thanks for the info
  7. As GSXR newbie! Is the cylinder barrels made of steel or aluminium with nikasil recovering?
  8. I have found a old Wiseco kit. Can I just bore out my cylinders and use this pistons without changing anything else?

  11. I found a set of brand new in the box Wiseco pistons this afternoon, I went to have a look at a crashed 92 GSXR750 for sell at the village where I live, ones there in his garage I discovered that he Also is selling a Bonneville 750, CB750, CBX750 and a Z900 I was quite impressed and suddenly i discovered the wiseco box laying there.... We did agree a package price for al his stuff! New future project to come...
  12. I have been cleaning and preparing for painting the wheels (I hate removing wheel stickers). Front (Sport version..) fork is more or less ready, I’m not happy with the to blimblim silver color on the callipers, I have to do something with that..
  13. Now beguine the difficult part, remember how tho assemble everything without leaving a box full of parts without a clue where to fit them again
  14. Normally I just have to be at my work from 08:15 to 13:00h, that’s why I have all afternoon for sports, family or my garage... I haven’t done much today, but I did try on the Kawa wheel and rear brake with the oem swing and it’s a very easy fit. But I prefer to try finding the re-forced unit from the Gsxr 1100 just for the look..
  15. I got the irons back from sandblasting today, I have also gave a first clear coat at the thank before I go on with rest of paint work. I have also reserved the original fork legs and seals with the post... The problem is that everything takes at least two weeks delivery over her....
  16. As it’s at main land I haven’t seen more than this pics, I live at Canary Islands outside west Africa’s coast! 2.5 hour flight from Spanish Mainland Its suppose to be a 750cc... cheers Jan
  17. “New” parts coming in for my bike.... i found this one at Andalucía for 50€... Not close to the coast and the engine turns...
  18. This afternoon I played a little with parts I have laying around from a ZXR6. The funny thing was that the front end just bolt on.... I don’t like the rear swing as I prefer a more classic GSX-R look. Which Suzuki swings fits without modifying the chassis?

  20. I will change all four pistons as this is the only correct way. But with what pistons... Wiseco JE Wössner ( I have used this brand a lot in Porsche’s) Etc...
  21. It will need a light honing. As I have no experience with this engine I don’t know what piston to search for, I’m not building a race engine but as I have to replace and doesn’t know what brand to use. I have been restoring air cooled Porsche and Ducati’s for more than 25 years and this is new for me
  22. I have found one damaged piston... What piston do you guys recommend quality/money/performance ??
  23. The engine looks much better inside then what is was outside.
  24. HI I just soda blast before dismantling the complete engine as this way its cleaner and also one way to advance as before painting and reassembling again. Some parts to be powder coated other powder coated etc... Cheers Jan
