  1. Once I begun sanding the faring I discovered that this was painted leaving the stickers under the paint..... So I had to remove all layers of paint leaving a horrible surface... Once this was done I base coated it and sanded it again with 180 sand paper, this afternoon I have base coated again I hope this will be enough to get a nice finish at this old plastics
  2. Back after some issues with part to arrive and fitting. The engine is now in place but I haven’t still finished the cylinder head. The front and rear suspensions is now in place with tailor made spacers and bushings. Rearsets has arrived as well but still need some fitting to put it in place. I still need to finish the cylinder head. Brought also a GSX750F 89” engine as it was cheap, but the guy who sold me it told me that it’s was leaving a lot of oil smoke. I have opend it up and it’s need pistons sonI leave this one for future projects
  3. Good morning Do any of you gentlemen’s know where I can find a new, nice & not to expensive oil radiator? I want to have the bike ready before one month for a bike meeting and I feel a bit stressed...... Engine is now in place but without the cylinder head, I have ordered exhaust valves new and one intake unit. A local work shop is putting in new valve seats in it at the moment
  4. At least the bike is down on the floor on its wheels, this feel very nice to see again. I’ve spent this afternoon adjusting the suspension linkage to get the correct hight at the rear.
  5. This afternoon had some time for my little ratbike so I welded the together the shocker support from the OEM 86 say what now!? to the later and wider swingarm.I have opted for this more modern unit as I like the look and as it’s take much wider rims.I still need make some minor works at it as the the axel diameter of the wheels and chassis not the same as in the swingarm. After that I will send it for powder coating in black.
  6. Back from holidays in my garage this afternoon. i bought the cheapest piston compressors from China and they worked well once I cut the compressor rings at half as they was to wide for a short stroke bike engine. I made also a couple of wood plates to block the pistons to move during the installation
  7. In racing every minimum weight sawing is important and event more if this mass is in localised hi up in the bike/car.. Once we made a comparation in a 911 GT3 a the Jarama track driving just alone as fast I could some laps, after that I had a friend sitting as passenger (78kg) . With the pasanger on board we lost near one sec per lap. We did this to show how important weight is at racing as I worked making carbon fiber body parts for Porsche racing. In other words sawing 1kg primordial and in racing is first in the list, 10hp more is much less important
  8. It’s a very easy part to make including for “do it your self”,
  9. Hi Desmo They comes from a Kawa Zx6r 636 2006. Saludos Jan
  10. Small updates from yesterday, my back pain is worse so I won’t do nothing to the bike this weekend. Hopefully I better next week as this will be the last days before leaving for holidays
  11. As I never had driven one of this bikes I really don’t know what to aspect!
  12. I just received the the chasis from powder coating to day, My back is still hurting but I justa had to build a bit on this toy!
  13. Ya the bike wasn’t very fancy when I brought it home... The reason why the piston was broke is due to that the piston pin went out of oil, I did notice when I pulled in the new piston that it was going in ruff compare tu the other three ons. So I was up to have a look at this yesterda, but my back had other plans! I was just to lift up the engine to the working bench and my back said crack! I went to the medical for a couple of injections and now her I am in horizontal in my sofa... Very annoying I have to say! At least I had time to spray some base coat on the oem wheels
  14. Wow That’s serious building and having next generation helping
  15. Well I’m a bit stuck at the moment with the engine.... The idea was to have this bike ready for a event at Tenerife in October which isn’t impossible, But having in mind that I will be out on a 3 week family journey in August don't make things easier exactly.. But I will do my best to finish in time
  16. This sound great, I have sent you a private message
  17. Hi Dupersunc Whats the difference between my head and a long stroke head? Guys remember I’m a newbie in the say what now!? world
  18. Hi So you mean that just the 1100 valve seat is 1mm diameter larger and the rest is the same length/diameter? Same valve guide and cotter? Please confirm as it’s seams very interesting to me... Cheers Jan
  19. Yes You’re right on that but if I purchase another used head this will also be a 40 years old head with maybe 40 years old valves, and that’s the issue... I not famous about cruising around, and this bike will probably visit the race track with frequency... I not a very rich or poor person, wish means everything has to be considered (as for most of us I suppose)
  20. I have two options for my cylinder head: 1. Change all valves as two are broken and rest looks like shit! (question, where do I by valves at a good price?) 2. Get another one! (question, which heads fits my engine?) cheers Jan
  21. Last weeks I’m being up to cleaning and sanding the oem wheels and a lot of other rusty parts . I have also got back my now new bored cylinders and begun installing the pistons this afternoon
