Update....
I wound up buying a brand new 2004 Kawasaki ZX10 sprocket nut from Cheap Cycle Parts and test fitted it today, it threaded on the output shaft beautifully.....
I didn't do much past that because I'm super busy, but I'll report back later once we're sure we're getting the proper signal to electrically "stimulate" the clocks.
This Suzuki speed rotor:
And this ZX10 sprocket nut:
are almost identical "dimensionally" to each other on the corners where it counts.
This is what it'll look like obviously once bolted on:
As long as we get the clearance right, I think it's going to work.
Promise to report back within a week or so with the progress and whether it was a success or not.
Thanks for getting me to this point gang, I would have never known about this trick without you guys.....
Did it work?

I think you mean M48? - Good choice, if a bit spendy IMO, BTW.

Ther should be a small rubber stopper in the small hole on the steel spline, or there always was on mine.

Yep looks like past it's Sale by date, also the little rubber stopper seems to be missing, time for a new one.

Another idea is put two batteries on and run them in series for the starter motor, gives 24 volts at starter and spins over a lot easier, run rest of electrics off just one of the batteries.Did this on our dragbike without any problem 13/1 comp.

I used to have one, took it to IOM and Steve Burn's Dyno'ed it, made an impressive 37.5 BHP.
When I got it home I discovered the waste gate was jammed, but had some fun on it.

Could be the rotor come loose and spinning on the shaft, don't try it again until you inspect it.

Before you butcher it try spraying carb cleaner on it, worked on mine for about 5000 miles.
Splitting the cases is the best way,but have also done it in situ, but didn't last as long as splitting cases.

Managed to do a bit on it today, tested the FPR as thought it was faulty, seems to be fine.
