  1. Yes I do will see if I can sort out and attach to this thread. If you comment on what I attach will try and get more photos for you as per your requirements
  2. Got it guys! Thanks ET for the info re oil and amount
  3. Got it with a tapered broom stick up the fork! Thanks for your suggestion Jaydee. What weight oil and how much please?
  4. I'm having trouble getting the bottom Allan bolt out without the internals spinning thus unable to get the fork dismantled. I don't have a workshop manual. Is there a trick to this?. I did try and remove the bolt prior to relieving the spring tension, also tried a impact driver to spin it off, all the things that normally work but no luck. Would appreciate your suggestions.
  5. Buzuki, what is the Ohlins off of?
  6. This has been very informative. I've got a 2007/2008 on order. Will modify based on your moments and post pictures of same in my project file for the bike. Thanks all!
  7. Thanks guys, as it's painfully obvious I'm in the steep part of the learning curve. Have got one on order now!
  8. Thanks for this Yoshi will try and get hold of him.
  9. In looking at a few articles on the net it appears a 2008 to 2011 R1 shock bolts into an early GSXR750 once the bottom mount has been thinned down a bit. Has anyone here tried this conversion? If so please comment on the results
  10. I built the bike in my shed, took about 2 years available funds being the governing factor. I started with a reproduction frame of a series 2 TR750, 1974 era. The forks are Suzuki GT750 with Sports Valve cartridge emulators. The wheels are 1980 Kawasaki, 7 spoke front and 5 spoke rear, they look like Campanola's but cast aluminium not magnesium so much heavier but stronger and cheaper. Front and back are 18". I built the motor from a Suzuki GT750 with a 5mm spacer plate, ported it to TR750 specs. It produces 100.6 hp , 7500RPM at the rear wheel on mixed 32:1 pump fuel . Added one friction and steel plate to the modified clutch housing to hold it. Fairing is from Ragged Edge Racing. A friend of mine Justin Roebury fabricated the chambers. I modified a GS750 5 speed transmission to fit into the GT750 engine cases as the ratios are a bit closer, getting a few false neutrals so more work required there. I've ridden it at Cadwell and there are still some set up issues to work out like brakes that actually slow you down and suspension set up. The biggest problem I have with it is it's bloody loud and very difficult to get through the track noise limits. Fun to ride but because I have lots to learn about riding on the track and the bike needs setting up yet I have been putting the final touches on a more modern track bike to learn the trade and less worried about chucking it down the track, 2001 GSXR600. I painted it to look like the TR750.
  11. I live close by and could bring the bike I parade. Not sure it's what you want so let me know otherwise happy to help out in any way I can
  12. Buzuk, i PM'ed you photos of fenders. Thank you for your offer of help with this.
  13. Buzuki, thank you for your airbox offer but I have one. If you happen to have a 1985 front fender I would be very interested to trade something for it or buy it. Thanks again.
  14. I suspect you are right about the original exhaust system but I do want a stock configured GSXR750F so will stick with it. Once I've got my 50 posts in will offer up the Vance and Hinds system that was on the bike. Motor is now loose in the frame and I will pull it Sunday or Monday. As you say Buzuki, will do the top end only.
  15. Vizman, good idea about documenting via project thread. I'll start one...……...thanks!
  16. Thank you for your comments and encouragement. Buzuki, very good advise! I will heed your suggestion re engine top end. Have just installed the original exhaust and have ran the big a bit now with it on and it is already starting to settle down and smooth out. Think more a result of just running it as it's been layed up for quite sometime. Will have a read of your project, thanks again.
  17. I've got the bike home now and half torn apart for a closer inspection. I have run the bike so have a bit of a sense about it's mechanics but still a bit of a question mark. What's good about the bike is it's mostly all there although with 53,000 miles it shows signs of having been ridden hard and put away wet! My plans for the bike, and I'm a bit hesitant to admit it here as everyone appears to heavily modify and improve their bikes , is to restore it back to original. I know...………….a bit of a sin as a new OSS member but please indulge me as I'm hoping I can get some advise from some of you. My first goal is to strip it down to the frame and build up the rolling chassis, repair all fairing damage and repaint it, disassemble the motor and rebuild it. Suspect this will take me till spring. My first question is who is a good supplier of motor parts like shell bearings, rings, gasket sets and transmission bearings that you would recommend? Suspect the head will require a valve grind and perhaps guides and seals. As I live in the midlands any recommendations on firms that do this work on bikes? Thanks in advance gents. Have included a picture as I'm aware of the rule...……...it didn't happen or will not happen with out photos!!
  18. Very interesting thread on your build. Keep it coming please
  19. Hi gents, as the title says. Will be picking the bike up next week sometime. This will be my 3rd Suzuki that I presently own the others being a series 2 TR750 I recently built and a 2001 GSXR600 track bike that is just nearing completion. Will try and add a picture of each. Very excited about the GSXR750F and learning about it with your help. If I can help any of you with anything will do so
