Hi bud. Welcome. I would think that the wires coming out of the tank will connect to the wiring loom and not go straight to the clocks. I would look for a connection in the loom that doesn't have anything plugged in. Then check the wiring diagram to see if it matches.

Yes a tube of stainless would be good. 1mm or 2mm longer than the gap between the bearings should be good. If it is a bit long you can always skim a bit off. Not as easy to. Make longer

Not shorter as it puts side load on the bearings. This will make them collapse

Very reliable. Usual suzuki electrical. Reg rec and alternator. Motor fairly bullet proof. Good bike if a little dull

Unbalanced carbs cause uneven pulses and that rattles the clutch.

Heaps are good. You just need to focus on the potential . Have a plan for where you want to end up.

Even so it surprised me. Expected to at least have the carbs off. I only turned it over to see if the battery would still have any life in it. And it chugged into life so added some choke and away it went. Tick over was a little rough to start with but once it warmed up it reved fine and ticked over nice. Going to ride it over to a mates at weekend and see how it goes

As far as I know only the bottom engine mount is different. I'm sure some one more knowledgeable will be able to confirm

Use lots of small dot marks evenly spread around the housing and a small amount of bearing retaining fluid. It's a bit of a bodge but will work if you are careful.
