Is that the srad slag off pbforum ?
I believe it is sev who I bought it off has upgraded quite a lot but I will need to get a proper race fairing with oil catch tray
that will be easier as it now got full akro ti exhaust so fits much neater underneath the bike

Bit of an update I am planning on racing two classes this year if it ever gets started
both with north glos road race club I will try to race csbk if we can travel across Europe such as Schleiz which is there road race although this is very much up in the air
so fp1 with my big engined slabby and fp3 which is pre injection 750 so yzf zx7r gsxr 750 etc, this means I can enter two bikes at the same meeting as the classes don’t clash, as friend I race with keeps telling me, to get more practice !
I had been look for a suitable gsxr 750 srad and mentioned this dupesunc, he always seems to have contacts and gsxr 750 was suggested which was only a few miles from work ! So clearly meant to be
it had been used by Scott redmond at performance bike mag and a few other owners and the latest sev, had also upgraded some parts but had been preparing it to go back on the road so headlight etc will be coming off again I will try to keep up to date with any additional mods that rules allow but below are piccys as she is now

Although I have managed to stay at work m27 can’t stop now I am trying to squeeze in a bit of bike stuff
I worked out I have enough of the big spares to build another gsxr slabby 750 race bike so following delivery of a very large parcel from Robbo_64I thought I had better get going
first pass at degreasing before skimming all my nuckles with a scotch brite

Update so far I managed to do quite well for the 2019 season of formula Prostocks fp2 and won the championship including being presented with my trophy by Mr J Reynolds and all round nice chap
following on from my successful season and the fp1 and fp2 class rules changing I decided to sell the gsxr 750 and use the the big engined gsxr 1216 in the fo1 class for 2020
which also
meant I freed up s bit of space in the garage which does make like a bit easier I have been meaning to get around to finish off the spare gs1000 Yoshi after I had accumulated enough spares
i coped the Harris frame bracing and have most of the engine ready including straight cut primary gear
a friend copied and machined some Vance & Hines exhaust D stubs that ray Debben had lent me after he met Byron Hines and he gavel him the set
so after modifying and welding the exhaust headers I have now made the viper exhaust system fit the Billet D headers
I also have a rickman frame being repaired after a previous monkey had attacked it and badly brazed modification this is at Wasp near Stonehenge so looking forward to getting it back soon
I will post more pictures when I get it back

I’ve just made a frame mounted version is it a racebike or road bike?
-
The slabby 750 and 1100 swinging arms are different where the mount on the shock rocker arm the shock length and a few other bits and the position they mount in the frame top and bottom
-
I can give more details if anyone is interested but the mtc cover needs machining down or you have to an extra long clutch centre puller the are ground finish and not cheap to buy

Thanks for the advise . Just ordered bearings from robinsons foundary on offer at the moment.
With regards to the inch I'll loose in ground clearance . I'm assuming that with the change to 17" wheels and shorter forks I'll loose 2 inches at the front. And and an inch at the back..Will this be a problem with ground clearance, I'm guessing so or else you wouldn't be putting extenders on !!
What are the improvements in the handling after the mods you're experiences would be appreciated
Hi just to confirm its actually 1/2 inch lost since its the measurement from the centre of the wheel ie radius, obviously the big improvement is the tyre choice and rim width using a 17" wheels gives over old style 18" rim but also the profile of the tyre (this may also make the bike lower)
The forks are more complicated they are shorter and this will steepen the front end because the rear is now higher which will usually result in quicker steering, but becomes more unstable in straight line also the offset and thus trail on yokes has tended to change with more modern bikes this will also have an effect
try and get back to the original height and level of the bike with the new suspension and work from there
on my race bike the lost ground clearance was is a problem but I would suspect on the road its not going to be such a significant issue

I bought some to try in my race bike but the k8 1000 are not interchangeable with K8 750 have a look on evilbay its cresent Suzuki that are selling them for about £65.00

What are the mjn tmrs like? Setup hard? They look the best carbs out there.
Hi
no not bad to set up, you do need to give yoshimura all the engine specification for your engine ie capacity, compression, cams /timing valves etc and they build the carbs to your bike you are also supplied with sets of main jets etc either side of the set fitted
I also had ray debben to help set them up !
they are stunning set of carbs almost like fuel injection, pick up very quickly so you need to be careful mid corner I am looking at trying to install a TPS and link that to my programable ignition

Thanks for the input,I'm running a rebuilt GSXR750 shock no budget for anything fancy yet.
MCT I think can rebuild the shock and not to bad price same cost as the practice day entry ? but try with what you have and see what it feels like
too soft spring, damper rate etc

Ive always gone for 20-30mm front and 10-15mm on the rear
don't worry about it too much at the moment just get used to ragging around the track I did notice most of the quicker bandit riders are using a brand new rear shock maxton, nitron etc so if you are using a second hand one get it rebuilt and re gassed most standard shocks lose the nitrogen in three years

Currently trying to sought the 750 and 1216 slabby race bikes I did manage to acquire a new stepped top yoke for big bertha which will help a lot with ground clearance this is magnesium xr 06 Suzuki works top yoke but it didn't come with the insert collars the stem hole was also left out for different offsets
so after a chat with GSXRsam and a friend of mine I had a new set of collars machined up and the top yoke fitted

After my little off at Oulton Park during Friday practice I did mange to get back out on the sat and compete, felt a bit sore and I had cracked a couple of ribs but with lots of help from friends Dave Towse and Nick Allison and Andy Feeley I was able to get out again, not too bad result as I won my race, a few people came off so I didn't feel too bad.
Next problem was I had been asked to have the bike on the stand at the NEC motorcycle live 2018, but it was looking very second hand and spike at ragged edge racing wasn't making a fairing until the new year as the old mould needed renewing and updating, however after a bit of arm twisting he managed to pull one out of the hat, quick dash to Derek the sprayer and image works supplied the transfers, I will never try doing applying them again, horrible job.
It did all come out looking quite good in the end, quick dash up to deliver the bike on Friday to the formula pro stock stand which is in hall 2 opp the Suzuki and Royal Enfield stands Suzuki are also sponsoring a bike in the bandit challenge and that is one of the class in our club as well as FP 1 FP 2 and FP 3 so 2019 looks like being a busy year

A tale of two race bikes
in OSS Racers

So lately I have Been repairing fibreglass and mucking about with the srad a former owner generously donated a race fairing which had and interesting colour choice
I am hoping to get a few upgrades including a full set of brembo brakes a bigger cooler etc and anything that will help life at the track, so Sam has fabricated a cup puller for the rear spindle which makes wheel changes a bit easier, and I have got hold of some quick release fittings for the front of the tank
Sam is also making some spacers for the front Dymag so the fit the wider yoke spacing in the srad
I also managed to get out at oulton Park with big Bertha blew a few cobwebs out and frighteneda lot of blades r1 and gsxr 1000 not bad for 35 year frame
