What's behind the blue tarp Matt? Is your secret dance studio/ spray tan booth?

You know that the Donington get together we are having on the 6th and 7th of May is also the expected to be largest gathering of TLs ever. Over 200 apparently. They will probably do a parade lap of Donington too.  I trust you will be there killing two birds with one stone.

Viz will bring the orange if you bring the vodka I will scout the nearest wobbly car park.

Scott, I was going anyway dude... The TL forums have been buzzing with this for over a year...
I'll be heading up with a few guys from there...

It was pretty coincidental that Noff messaged me and asked if i'd like to have my TL on the OSS stand...

    I'll be bringing Vodka alright !!!! Who's party wig-wam we crashing ???

  3. So, it begins... Bought some bits to improve the way it goes and the way it stops... Dymags originally for a Busa and a set of PFM calipers and discs. Pulled one apart to give it a thorough clean out and to check for damage. Just brake dust and a bit of grime, pulled a couple of pistons out to find that they're immaculate... Happy so far !

  4. Hi Chaps, building a TL1000R... kind of !!!!
Thought I'd share some of my work here,

I'm currenlty doing a re-vamp of my S at the same time so progress may be a tad slow...

Came across this R looking a bit sorry for itself last year and got it for a stupidly low price.
I've decided to do this a little different.

I love the R but the seat unit on them is pretty horrific so i thought i'd try the S subbie to see how if it'd fit.

Here's a few pics of it so far... Seat unit is a little high i think, I'm just playing with the height just now to get the lines right.

Not got much bling for it as the S has all the gucci bits.... I do have a Double Braced JMC Arm and an M4 Hi level system though.
I've got a motor, loom, throttlebodies and ECU coming from a 97S which i'm gonna fit as the R motor thats currently fitted is unknown and been sitting since 2009.

  5. If you've never owned one before, then now is the time to buy.... These things are appreciating and next year is the 20th Anniversary of it's launch.

I've had a Twin in the stable for almost 10 years now... Once you get used to the Torque you love it... Put it this way, I got a ZX9R in March and it felt gutless in comparison....Nothing rides like a large capacity V-Twin... I'll never look back to an inline 4 again...

  6. It's quite a common thing for TL's to be bad starters or runners if one or both of the plugs aren't 100%.

Change your plugs and while you have the leads out I'd pull the HT caps off and have a look for any corrosion on the threaded part where it joins the lead. Snip 5-10mm off the lead and screw the Cap back on. I've heard stories about them not liking irridium plugs too, but I've used them for years with no trouble. Check your coil connections as the 12v feed and signal cables corrode too.

If you do have a bad coil give me a shout as i have a spare.

  7. Been offered an L Reg GSXR750WN.... it's got 50K on the clock.

It runs pretty sweet, has MOT till December and is used daily, so i'm assuming it's not rotten.

I know these things are beginning to appreciate in value and im seriously thinking about it.

The mileage is kinda putting me off a tad... What are the motors like at this age?
