  1. Gyday Where are you from? I'm in Syd. Mick Hone Motorcycles in Melbourne should have the parts your after. How was it running prior to opening up the box and K&N filter?
  2. Hi Fellas Im after a factory Pro 3.0 config Kit for my 88 Gsxr 750 36mm Mikunis. My supplier here in Oz says they are nil available, this I find out after a month...... Grr. Does anyone know where I can get one from ?. Cheers Ant
  3. Hi all Removed these needles from my 36bst's or 88 j carbs. Stamp says 5F93 they have an even taper all the way through. Much different to the factory ones which appear to taper again at least 10mm from the end. Anyone have these needles or know what they are from. Dyno jet?? Cheers Ant
  4. Thanks Aaron Are the jets your using the factory pro ones? Or Mikunis? Im thinking that I will most likely go for the factory pro 3.0 kit. Incidently prior to new emulsion tubes and needles jetting was ok. A look under glass showed the emulsion tubes had gone oval and the needles had an obvious wear mark, so the wear was allowing a richer effect, never thought that it would be such a marked difference. 5. I'd junk that tap and fit a Pingel there so much better. fitted one to a mates 1100 M which was suffering crushed fuel feeds like yours. As the Pingel has 2 outlets facing the clutch side you can nicely loop the lines and avoid snagging.
  6. Hi I have same set up Note. Your needles and emulsion tubes should be in good condition otherwise you will get a rich condition, happened to me. I have since replaced them with new and will need to adjust the main as its too small indicated by the needle on lowest clip. Anyway this is my base line Pilots 37.5 are okay Mixture screw 2 1/2 turns out slightly rich could be 2 or 2 1/4 ongoing. Needles on lowest clip ongoing Mains 127.5 will step up jets as needle is currently on lowest clip indicating main is slightly to small so either 130,135,140 . ongoing If you want an easier route a forum member pointed me in the direction of a factory pro kit that covers your set up and mine "config 30 carb kit" I'm going to play with some larger mains as its a cheaper option, the new needles and emulsion tubes made a big difference. Cheers
  7. I've just been reading the Haynes manual re: checking floats. They say to invert the carbs up side down then check. However I've always held carbs vertically and gently rocked the floats onto the needle and seats. I would suspect following Haynes would lead to a rich mixture/ flooding. Any thoughts
  8. That is a nice finish, I'd be happy if I unwrapped them
  9. I was looking at farming out the front calipers to Powerhouse for a rebuild. Seems lazy and I'd prefer to do it myself however I'm really strapped for time. Uk. Based business anyone used them or heard anything good about them. There is no one in Oz. that does what they do. Cheers Ant
  10. Hi all Has anyone got this set up or provide a good starting point re settings/ jetting. 771cc 85 gsxr BST 36 carbs from 88J model with Dual K&N. Carbs rebuilt with new emulsion tubes and stock needles. This is current jetting Main 127.5 Pilot 37.5 Pilot screw 2 1/2 turns out Needle on lowest clip Ant
  11. I have an 1100 rear in my 85 no probs, someone might need to confirm if the discs are the same size 750-1100.
  12. Are they BST carbs? Can you confirm that? Confirm size measure at intake rubber Side as there are many sizes of these carbs...... Remove the needles what position is the circlip on? cheers
  13. You should provide more details Carbs - size? Airbox, Pods? Does it have a Dyno jet kit fitted or other. This will help to get the answer your after. cheers

    Clutch fixed

    That's a nice ride mate
  15. Thanks I have experienced some pinging using 91, hence question on fuels. Would using say 95 octane improve this?. cheers
  16. Got a stripped bolt on the clutch cover haven't pulled the cover off yet as just found it as I was chasing an oil leak. Anyone know if there is enough meat to helicoil? Or some other suitable repair. And instead of draining the oil from the sump can I leave bike on side stand and only drain the oil from the clutch housing. Cheers Ant
  17. Hi all Anyone know what octane the 85 was designed to run on?. Here in Oz we have 91,95 and 98, I have been using 91 as advised by a mechanic. Im interested to know if I could run a higher octane would there be any benefits or would the hotter burn cause poor running issues. cheers Ant

    Help BST36ss

Hi Fellas New member though old surfer from old site. I was doing a strip down and clean of the above carbs all going well until I got distracted with the goannas(kids). I had removed the jets in the intake bell at bottom there are 2 and got them mixed up, I can see that one has a larger hole than the other. Can someone please tell me which way they go around , they might be called airjets? Appreciate any help Cheers Ant
