  1. afternoon just had a 2006 bandit 1200 swingarm turn up only to find it,s a 25mm spindle. my rear wheel is a 2005 20mm spindle. is it a simple bearing swop or do the late wheels use a different wheel casting. cheers for any info edit...looks to be a 1250 arm.
  2. cheers for that. so it will fit with cv carbs. wondering if i could use a pingel tap adaptor plate straight into a 90 degree bend and a inline tap.
  3. thanks for the fast reply and the help. brought it off suzuki performane couple of weeks back.said he had one on his own bike. it mght of fitted if it was cv carbs possibly. is there a tank that would fit this . maybe a Et1100. 1000 tanks are rare to get hold of. cheers
  4. morning recently brought a usa road tank ,not a ltd. been told it will fit my uk bike but i have a 78 with slide carbs and the petcocks hitting the carb before the tanks fully down. petcock is a vacuum tap. has anyone fitted one of these? is the earlier tap smaller. any advice greatly appreciated.... dirk

these are 310mm but they definitely came with this wheel. think I,m gonna swop the bearings ,fit it together and see if I can make adapter plates for the calipers. last project left me with a shed full of bits that didn't fit so I,m in no rush to buy more cheers bingo found it. it was off a sv650. same casting as a gsf6 so hopefully should be able to do summat with it. cheers

Cheers guys Brian it is then hopefully new bearings will save my buying a wheel then. the disc is marked kba 61000 and the spec sheets say if will fit rgv250 and gsx600f amongst others. does anyone know what the measurements are for a bandit disc. hoping this is the same then I,ll be onto a winner. more bits for a bike and less junk in the shed
  8. hi. just got this wheel out the back of the shed.anyone got a clue what it is. the bearing is 40 outer and 14 inner. stamped up as jt17xmt3.00. thought it was gsf but the 400 has a 15mm spindle. hoping to use it with b6 forks as the discs are pretty new if I can do a bearing swop to 17mm inner. is this a standard wheel that Suzuki used on everything ? any ideas ? cheers dirk
  9. cheers for the info.appreciated. the more I remember that bike the more I remember I used to fall off it when I stopped at lights. think I might go for a lower road trials like idea and just slug the gsf forks internally. can anyone tell me the difference between a gsf600 and a bandit motor.if I put gsx carbs on my gsf will it be gsx spec or are the cams differnet too? also the gsf600 swingarm is steel. I need to shave a bit off the sides and shorten the sleeve tube between the bearings to get it to fit the gs750 frame. is the 1200 version in alloy a bolt in swop ? cheers
  10. hi havnt built in a while and clearing out the spares shed I,ve got the urge again. 20 years ago I built a gs850 jacked up like a mx bike. front springs were raised with internal slugs.6inch extended swinger. I,m trying to reproduce it but more up to date and lighter. I have a gs750 frame gs750 motor b6 motor gsxf600 wheels yokes swingarm and back break so far.still goin throught the shed. could do with advice on what forks to buy to raise the front. if I buy gsxf forks they will fit straight in but be too short. I,m loosing height already using the bandit wheels over the gs but I want modern rubber. are there any other models in the range that had more fork length but will still fit the wheel. would I be better using gs750 forks then adapting for the bandit wheel. are there any modern yokes that fit the gs750 frame and forks instead of the old cast steel ones or should I just sleeve down the gsxf yokes to fit the forks. it,s a lot of questions but ive brought the wrong stuff so many times hence the shed full of stuff. cheers for any input dirk
  11. hi about 20 years back I had a survival style gs850 jacked up to motorcross height. I,m going to rebuild it but do a neat job this time more like a supermoto. so I,m wondering what forks will drop straight onto a gs750 frame and be at least the same length if not a bit longer. I think all the later ones off gsxr are slightly shorter. years ago I made them longer by adding a spacer in above the forkspring and then putting external springs bellow the bottom yoke. I could do this again as it did look good and still handled well but I,m looking for more modern aluminium yokes as the gs ones look real dated. thinking about it that would proberly do the job so..does anyone know what aluminium yokes will fit gs750 forks to tart them up a bit or at least a top yoke. soz for rambling on cheers for any feedback dirk
